Ever since having fun with de-winged Felixstowes in RoF people have been saying it: the wonderfull 3D water just calls for some player controlable units

 

and let´s face it. THis is just a tank, anyways!

There were ground crew operating all sorts of equipment on bases.

oh yeah, I can see it now, a mashup of IL-2, Spintires and my first car.  You have to drive off to the place  you last crashed that aircraft, try to recover as many parts from it as possible while not getting shot by the ground troop AI.  Get the parts back to fix up another aircraft and get it ready for flight.  Only then can you take off on a mission.

Too sad so few people see the good side of the 3d water.. it would actually be interesting to model a fast boat going along the waves and quite unique. Felixstowe boating in RoF was quite amusing, but I guess the majority will always be waiting to hop in a Me109 or whichever plane is currently best and fly chaotic 40 vs 20 kill racking furballs ;=P
