Ribbon Posted December 6, 2017 Posted December 6, 2017 Next major update is almost here and nobody is talking about it, all i see is BoOB threads! Nobody is looking forward to A-20? Is rain improvement confirmed to be in the next update or it will be delayed for the 3.0xx? Did devs mention will next gfx improvements have any hit on VR performance? 5
Custard Posted December 6, 2017 Posted December 6, 2017 I don't think rain on canopy has ever been suggested to be in 3.001
CIA_Yankee_ Posted December 6, 2017 Posted December 6, 2017 Well, I for one am extremely excited about BoK. BoBp is definitely an exciting prospect, and you can tell just from the sudden burst of interested in the game (even the servers are more full these days), but BoK has a LOT of exciting stuff for us. As a VVS pilot, especially, I'm chomping at the bit to get my hands on the new hardware. The LW already has its newest and greatest kites, but we're still missing the Yak-7B and the P-39 (not to mention the A-20)... and I'm confident those will be a great QOL upgrade for those of us who fight for the proletariat! The Yak-7b is probably going to be a pretty good boon for those who don't already have the Yak-1b (as far as I can tell, performance is somewhere in between the Yak-1 and 1b, but with greater firepower), while the P-39 is probably going to be a godsend for those of us who already like to fly the P-40 (and seems to be a better airframe all around). Not to mention the new career mode.
Ribbon Posted December 6, 2017 Author Posted December 6, 2017 I don't think rain on canopy has ever been suggested to be in 3.001 i think they only mentioned that it may not be in 3.001 not that it won't for sure.
Nibbio Posted December 6, 2017 Posted December 6, 2017 Did devs mention will next gfx improvements have any hit on VR performance? God forbid My old rig is already hanging by the skin of its teeth

Herne Posted December 6, 2017 Posted December 6, 2017 I can't wait to try the career mode. Everything else is going to be super too, but a career from start to finish is what I'm looking forward to. I'll need several for different roles on each side. Can't wait to do this in VR. I loved the career in RoF 3
Ribbon Posted December 6, 2017 Author Posted December 6, 2017 God forbid My old rig is already hanging by the skin of its teeth i'm planning to order Rift in a day or two once my paycheck arrives and my i7 6700k+gtx1070 are scared as shit!
OrLoK Posted December 6, 2017 Posted December 6, 2017 Im gagging for the full BoK release. Especially the Coop ability. hopefully rain wont kill my FPS in VR.
CIA_Yankee_ Posted December 6, 2017 Posted December 6, 2017 Yeah, and i hope Kuban will be more represented in MP after it's release, it will attract more players on allied side Agreed. It's nice to move into a theatre that has somewhat better parity, though I admit it's fun to fly the underdog sometimes. But I think we will see Kuban be more pronounced on the server rotations (like on WoL), if only because of the greater variety of airframes and increased competition.
Ribbon Posted December 6, 2017 Author Posted December 6, 2017 Im gagging for the full BoK release. Especially the Coop ability. hopefully rain wont kill my FPS in VR. Let's be optimistic; rain will reduce overall visibility so it may not kill FPS or even it could improve performance 1
OrLoK Posted December 6, 2017 Posted December 6, 2017 Let's be optimistic; rain will reduce overall visibility so it may not kill FPS or even it could improve performance very true!!

Also i was wondering lately why not create additional servers that are so popular like TAW#2 or WoL#2, majority of time they are top full so many ppl wait for free slot or just move on. 1
Boaty-McBoatface Posted December 6, 2017 Posted December 6, 2017 (edited) They said it was all going to be before Christmas. They've always kept to their word before, but I don't see how a Yak 7, A20, and a P39 will be released before then. Unfortunately, I really don't believe they can do it this time. Edited December 6, 2017 by boaty_McBoatface
OrLoK Posted December 6, 2017 Posted December 6, 2017 well, if its not before Christmas there will be a good reason as to why not. id rather have a delay and a working product rather than a rushed flawed one! 1
Finkeren Posted December 6, 2017 Posted December 6, 2017 Career mode is by far the thing I look forward to right now, nothing comes close. A distant second is the P-39 with the A-20 not far behind. And for some reason, even with career mode coming, the last DD left me itching to try out B6’s IL-2 campaign. 1

Likewise. As far as I'm concerned, there is no rush. They have always kept to their word in the past though, and I would like to see them continue this trend and deliver as they said. I still hope to see a A20, P39 and Yak 7 by Christmas. Edited December 6, 2017 by boaty_McBoatface 1
Ribbon Posted December 6, 2017 Author Posted December 6, 2017 They said it was all going to be before Christmas. Now that would ruin Christmas for many families! Those 3 aircrafts are in production for a long time so i'm sure they are just polishing or even testing them right now, if not and update comes in January than at least i'll have time to adopt to VR
Boaty-McBoatface Posted December 6, 2017 Posted December 6, 2017 Christmas -> 7 Jan 2018 Why the 7th my friend?
Herne Posted December 6, 2017 Posted December 6, 2017 I don't think rain on canopy has ever been suggested to be in 3.001 Did you see the vid in the Dev diary ? https://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/168-developer-diary/?p=523294
=SqSq=switch201 Posted December 6, 2017 Posted December 6, 2017 Someone makes a post titled: "Next Major update!" and everyone scrambles in here thinking it's been released

Ribbon Posted December 6, 2017 Author Posted December 6, 2017 Really looking forward to the new Career! Me too even Pat did amazing job with PWCG 3.0! I made a forum asking when the ETA date would be not too long ago. Jason replied stating the release should be expected in late Dec or sometime early in Jan 2018. So don't get your hopes up until then! there are Orthodox Christians celebrating Christmas on January 7th so win win for 1C!
MrNoice Posted December 6, 2017 Posted December 6, 2017 I hope that we will get a DD about BOK News this week and not about missions or pilots... 1
LLv24_Zami Posted December 6, 2017 Posted December 6, 2017 Can't wait for it. Theres so much new exciting features inside it, going to be a pretty big patch. Career is on first place in my waiting list but it's interesting to see what longer terrain rendering looks like for example.
Jade_Monkey Posted December 6, 2017 Posted December 6, 2017 (edited) Im excited for the new visibility, the campaign, the A20. Im curious about P39. Edited December 6, 2017 by Jade_Monkey
Picchio Posted December 6, 2017 Posted December 6, 2017 Career and improved rendering distance! But for me, Career mode can turn Bo? into an almost entirely new game. Also, Mods on... they've been quite silent about it, but I'm hopeful.
1_Robert_ Posted December 6, 2017 Posted December 6, 2017 i'm planning to order Rift in a day or two once my paycheck arrives and my i7 6700k+gtx1070 are scared as shit! Have you tried a flight sim in VR before? If not, be prepared to be blown away..
Mitthrawnuruodo Posted December 6, 2017 Posted December 6, 2017 The P-39 has many unique features. Tricycle undercarriage, large cannon as standard, and engine behind the pilot. It will be interesting to see how they affect the aircraft in the game.

Due to the relatively low resolutions of current VR headsets I have to play with markers and use zoom liberally, but it's worth it. The immersion is unparalleled. Don't tweak your neck trying to look at your six though, at 1-to-1 tracking you'll be moving around a lot more compared to TrackIR!

That is the problem, i did tried it! will order it in a few days (salary), also i'll have to wait for it till 27th so 3.001 and rift could come at the same time. My original plan was to wait next gen VR and upgrade my PC, after trying it with Rift i can't stop thinking about it....400€ fijuuuu 2
OrLoK Posted December 6, 2017 Posted December 6, 2017 Okay, any tips? ditto! I too *need* markers in VR.
coconut Posted December 6, 2017 Posted December 6, 2017 I'm looking forward to the coop mode. I'll adapt my server to use that instead. I'm envisioning something like that: A bunch of players decide to meet at a certain time. They go to my website which shows the current map status. They get a list of missions to choose from. They pick one, and the server builds the mission, populating only the area where players will be flying (with some margins). Mission is launched, and when it ends results are collected and the campaign is advanced accordingly. Benefits: My server doesn't need to be on, running heavy missions with AIs around the clock. Instead it will do that only when people are on. I'm sure the hardware will like it. Missions should feel (even more) densely populated with AIs and targets. I'll be able to better integrate players and AIs, i.e. have a wing escort your flight of bombers, the same way it works in single player, or be a part of a wing of bombers even if you are the only player flying bombers on your side. No need to spawn AI planes, and can simply activate them, which allows them to behave like proper wings. I'm also looking forward to the rain effect. Flying a bomber in rough weather, using the non-directional beacons to find your way back home, or simply doing a transfer flight is going to be even more interesting and challenging than it is now. I'm also curious to see if the increased horizons also gets rid of some pop-in on the Kuban map, and whether the map plays more smoothly. Right now I can notice it's heavier than the other maps. Maybe we have to live with that, it would be understandable, but if there's any optimization that's been done on the map I'll be happy to get it. 7
Max_Damage Posted December 6, 2017 Posted December 6, 2017 I want to know how good is the aircobra. I have no remote idea of its stats.
Gambit21 Posted December 6, 2017 Posted December 6, 2017 A good fighter that carries a big stick - low to medium altitude only. However that describes most air activity on the eastern front.
