Chalax Posted December 5, 2017 Posted December 5, 2017 Alright so this is so fucking frustraiting. First of all, its a pain in the ass to walk through the menu on this game. To that, add the fact that EVERY SINGLE TIME I enter the game, I have to re map my joystick. It simply doesnt work, nothign is binded to it. I have to go again control by control and re map it. Ive done this so many times now its just so frustrating. At first I thought it may had been a bug but this just keeps happening. Any one have any idea on how to fix this issue?
ShamrockOneFive Posted December 5, 2017 Posted December 5, 2017 Good place to start would be by checking to make sure that the "IL-2 Sturmovik Battle of Stalingrad\data\input" folder isn't set to read only.
Dakpilot Posted December 5, 2017 Posted December 5, 2017 Also if possible, move out of standard install place in program files to avoid windows rights issues and the reverting of read only files (it can be simply done by copy/cut-paste with possible need for new desktop shortcut. Or reinstall with new destination ) Cheers Dakpilot
216th_Jordan Posted December 5, 2017 Posted December 5, 2017 Os the game asking youbif you connected a new controller on startup?
Herne Posted December 5, 2017 Posted December 5, 2017 Some of my friends have reported problems using third party utilities such as target script. Could this have anything to do with it ?
Sokol1 Posted December 5, 2017 Posted December 5, 2017 (edited) If your game are STEAM version can be the case that have STEAM Cloud enabled but are not allowing STEAM backup settings before close their interface, then next time STEAM load the first settings saved (default). Chalax Posted December 11, 2017 Author Posted December 11, 2017 Os the game asking youbif you connected a new controller on startup? Nope. I just connect my joystick TM 16000M and then launch the game. everything is reset. Some of my friends have reported problems using third party utilities such as target script. Could this have anything to do with it ? I dont use any 3rd parties.. Which is the file that saves the joystick mapping? This way I can copy it into the game folder everytime I want to open the game? Opening this game is becoming a ritual.
Chalax Posted December 11, 2017 Author Posted December 11, 2017 for whatever reason, it is not exactly reseting to default mode. It is just overriding some of my personal mapping settings. For some reason, for example, pitch, jaw and roll axis get set to my Joy0, that is my thruster, not my joystick. When I set it all up again, using my joystick to set these up, it says Joy1_axis_y for example, this only happens when it is working properly (When I set it up again...and again.. and again every time I run the game...
Sokol1 Posted December 11, 2017 Posted December 11, 2017 Windows (10?) are changing your controllers ID every time you plug then. Avoid this unplug/plug (I keep mine plugged all time) but if is not possible try plug then in the same order and in the same USB ports as before. Anyway assign the controls again and make a copy folder: ...\IL-2 Battle of Stalingrad\data\input If the inversion happens again try use the copied \input folder.
FlyingH Posted December 14, 2017 Posted December 14, 2017 And , DO NOT have your game in C\Program files\! Take it out of there and if possible put it on another disc, or at least on another partition. Program files is a notorious prohibiter of changes! 1
