slojani Posted December 3, 2017 Posted December 3, 2017 Is it normal for a double picture to appear on the monitor when I play il-2 boss with Rift? For a while I was without Rift, now I have a new one, and I remember that only one picture was on the monitor before. Thanks!
slojani Posted December 3, 2017 Author Posted December 3, 2017 Thanks. What's better - windowed mode or full screen mode and which resolution.
TG-55Panthercules Posted December 3, 2017 Posted December 3, 2017 (edited) Thanks. What's better - windowed mode or full screen mode and which resolution. Most people seem to be running in windowed mode at around 1024x768 (and that's how the VR benchmark parameters are set up, IIRC) - there seems to be a potential problem with being able to reach all the menu buttons/choices with the mouse if you go too low with the windowed resolution. But I ran some tests and on my rig I didn't see any significant performance difference between windowed resolution at 1024x768 and at my usual monitor default of 1920x1080. IIRC, running at fullscreen causes me problems when I'm using OVRdrop to insert the map into the game, so I generally run windowed at 1920x1080. Edited December 3, 2017 by TG-55Panthercules

I could not see any real performance difference either in lowering the monitor resolution. Not sure why they changed the monitor image to reflect both eyes rather than one. =GEMINI=Framais Posted December 4, 2017 Posted December 4, 2017 Not sure why they changed the monitor image to reflect both eyes rather than one. I agree, one eye only image would have been enough, renedring both eyes on the monitor would only take more GPU / CPU power.
coconut Posted December 4, 2017 Posted December 4, 2017 Both eyes makes it easier to record 3d videos, I like it. The perf cost seems to be affordable.
