It is a “founder’s badge” given to those who preorder a title for early access. If you bought BoM after it was released you don’t get it.

To me recognition doesn’t matter at all, but when talking to people on the forum it’s just convenient to know which titles they own.

Ah yes, I see there are both gold and silver variants for BoM already; bronze would be good. As you say, it's just handy to know what forum users own, when discussing BoX.

BoS, BoM, BoK badges were ready on the same day where you could start to pre-order. I wonder why it now takes time. Playing the new time-game, maybe.......

I think Jason said that BOK (BOS,BOM) was already in developement for some time when the preorder begun.

I too would like to see anyone who has purchased the game or any part of it, get recognized as a supporter with some type of emblem. I think it's more important than just us feeling good that others here see that we supported 777 and BoX. For a prospective customer, what more recommendation could one ask for when looking at this forum than member after member with one and likely several bars, badges or emblems displayed in every post? While our profiles might start to look rather crowded as this series grows, I would like to see our purchases of collector planes, campaigns and whatever else might come to be in the future, be commemorated in some way. Something official or maybe taking the cue from some here that have made custom bars featuring the collector planes they own and use those badges. I'm sure whoever did them first would be thrilled to contribute that to the cause. For continuity sake and keeping the forum visually appealing, some simple guidelines would be nice.

 

I think a lot of us feel pretty good right now knowing we have help this series grow by our purchases. I think those of us who were here from the start, have had our faith in the developmental process rewarded many times over. Those that came onboard a little later and missed out on founders status bars, helped in the same way with their cash. They should be rewarded too.

I agree that the badges under the usernames should reflect all the games owned in the account. Distinguish by color / whatever if that's important to recognize the pre-order status. Bronze would be fine or even just text. Seems straightforward enough to implement.

It's pretty low on the list of things to do but the Dev's suggested some time ago they would consider an alternate (possibly a ribbon as opposed to a badge) icon to show what users have purchased.

you get the badges if you become a founder, a Founder is one who pays money up front for a supported product. then he or she gets a badge to show they contributed to the early payment to the product. Also gaining access to the product in an early access release in turn hoping to debug the product or play it.

I guess the badges are a way to show gratitude for those buying stuff they wont have for many month . 

 

They are not worth anything, it is not real gold, and we still love you if you do not have them.

If you want medals, you have to earn them. I lend you some of my campaign. This has merit. Reach the pilot level 13 with the AI comrades who do not obey and go for a walk and leave you alone fighting with up to 8 bad guys
