What do the 3 (green/white/red) lights in the Il2 1943 cockpit mean?

I noticed the Il2 1943 has 3 lights right under the gun sight that will sometimes flash. other times I notice my pilot pushing buttons next to these lights. What do the various light codes mean?

is't it landing gears (green for down, red for up) and bombs (white on for bomb ready, off for no bomb)?

edit: ok, stupid answer, just gone to the cockpit and it's not the lights you are asking about. I don't know actually, don't usually fly it :(

no I don't think thats correct. because I know of these lights you speak of and where they are located (assuming the lights I am talking about are not redundant)

The lights I am talking about are right under the gunsight. and they are only in the Il2 1943. 1942 and 1941 do not have these lights but do have the gear/bomb lights.

I found the answer here:

The pilot & gunner communicated using those lights.

Pilot to gunner light signals:

Green light, single flash - fire at will

White light, single flash - return fire only

Red light, single flash - hold fire

Green light, multiple flashes - engage the intermediate flaps stop

White light, multiple flashes - engage the fuel tanks pressurization system (after taking off)

Red light, multiple flashes - disengage the fuel tanks pressurization system (after landing)

Gunner to pilot light signals:

Green light, single flash - the target is far away

White light, single flash - no ammo left

Red light, single flash - we're being engaged

Green light, multiple flashes - the intermediate flaps stop engaged

White light, multiple flashes - the fuel tanks pressurization system engaged

Red light, multiple flashes - the fuel tanks pressurization system disengaged.
