Bullets Posted November 27, 2017 Posted November 27, 2017 Hey guys, I recently acquired a MSFFB2 after using a TM16000 and upon plugging it in and launching BOX no axis bindings were set, I swear when I got my TM16k that was literally plug and play and then obviously I had to bind the buttons. That is not the main issue as I can set all the bindings / axis's again, the main issue is I can't get the force feedback to work and have no idea where to start.. as far as I can tell everything is okay with the joystick its self, the motors are working as I can feel resistance and the stick self centres when i break the lazer on the grip. In game turning on or off "force feedback" in the settings has no effect. Does anyone know what I am doing wrong and can help me please? Cheers!!!
Bullets Posted November 27, 2017 Author Posted November 27, 2017 Update: Closed BOX a few times and unplugged / replugged the joystick and it seemed to somehow have worked haha, all is functional!! And OH BOY IS IT AMAZING!!!!!!! Honestly a MASSIVE step up from the tm16000... Can't tell ANY difference between sensor quality and to be honest I think the sidewinder may even be more accurate.. the center point of my thrustmaster was becoming very lose and creating a lot of noise which I had to counter with a big dead zone in the in game settings. But with the sidewinder I can get rid of that. Honestly 10/10 joystick flying feels so much more real.
yeikov Posted November 27, 2017 Posted November 27, 2017 I was using a MSFFB2 for a long time until recently, it's a fantastic stick that I still keep around. When you see FFB issues (loss of effects, strange regular bumps...) it usually helps to go to the controls setup screen and/or to adjust the effects intentisy up or down, that brings it back to life most of the times. Also, my joystick didn't like Alt+Tab'ing, I lost the effects and couldn't get them back after that unless I restarted the game.
VBF-12_Stick-95 Posted November 28, 2017 Posted November 28, 2017 Alt-Tab can (most times it does) cause loss of FFB. I have been able to regain it while spawned in without leaving the game by entering the game Setup (Escape), going to Key Mapping, then just Cancel back to game. You may have to do it more than once. If in the air set level stab first.
Sokol1 Posted November 28, 2017 Posted November 28, 2017 Can't tell ANY difference between sensor quality and to be honest I think the sidewinder may even be more accurate.. Is not, Sidewinder is 10 bits, T.16000M is 15 bits (but their marketing say 16).
sniperton Posted November 28, 2017 Posted November 28, 2017 It only feels more accurate thank to better ergonomics and the more natural and intuitive response (FFB).
Royal_Flight Posted December 11, 2017 Posted December 11, 2017 I've also just acquired a MS FFB2 (courtesy of the great I./JG1_Martijnvdm) and it's great. I haven't had long with it and I'll hopefully get a chance to mess around properly in the week. That said, what is the consensus on using curves with force feedback? Is it totally unnecessary? If not, any recommended settings? Sorry for hijacking the thread btw.
sniperton Posted December 11, 2017 Posted December 11, 2017 Give it a try and see. I personally use 60-70% curves.
