Using a Rift:

When I take my first flight after first loading the game, I can move my head around in the cockpit freely, and the game doesn't try to "pull" my head back to the center.

It seems like by the third or fourth flight, the game decides it wants to pull my head back to the center of the cockpit.

Why is this happening? I've toggled the "limit VR view" option off and on in the menu, and it doesn't fix it if it's on or off.

I also found I can reliably get this awful "feature" to turn on by pressing "5" on the numpad to recenter my view.

I want this disabled permanently. I don't have any idea why it was ever implemented in the first place, as it makes aiming almost impossible because you can never keep your eyes lined up to the targeting reticule.

I've seen this bug crop up only a few times (3 or 4) in a few hundred hours. (Vive).

The return to centre effect like when you have the map open seems to get stuck when the map is off. Not sure of the cause, I manage to fix it by opening and closing the map and recentering my VR view a few times and that seems to have worked.

It's not normal so I hope you find a fix.

I've never noticed this with my Rift, but then again I generally only fly one BoX mission at a time, since after the mission I need to go back into PWCG, do all the after-action process there, get a new mission generated, and then save down a snapshot of the map for the new mission so I can put it into BoX with OVRdrop, and then go back into BoX and fly the next mission.

Just write normally, please.  Trying to read what you have written is almost painful, it doesn't help !

I would check to ensure you don't have any conflicting key inputs and/or, fire up the game in non VR and check your head position when sitting in the cockpit is correct, adjust if necessary and then re-start the game in VR.

Sometimes if you clicked to your desktop and left a window open that is not the IL2 VR app this happens to me..

make sure the open live window is IL2 and not some other window.
