Is this Steam only? Or can you utilize a stand alone product without dealing with Steam?

Same servers available to both if you can use stand alone?

Had Steam in the past..not a fan.

Would appreciate some help in this regard before I prepurchase the BATTLE OF BODENPLATTE.

Cheers!

You don't need Steam for any of our products. Just buy from the website.

Same servers are available regardless of the client version.

Hi Dobs.  :salute:

No matter which expansion(s) you own, or from where, all of the servers/maps are available in multiplayer. You're only restricted by the aircraft you own.

Purchase on Il-2 website; it’s better in many respects, especially if you do not like Steam.

Also: when you purchase here at the site you know that 100% of the money goes to the developers. You can always tie the game to Steam later, if you really want to.

I doubt 1C is a charity so I'm guessing something goes to them as well. So perhaps saying 100% of the money goes to people directly involved in BOS is more accurate (maybe not,  I dunno) Either way it all good.

Thank you for the quick reply.

I have an IL-2 version (steam) from the past...to be honest I'm not sure what it even is.  I won't install steam again, so don't care about losing it....but this leads to my next question...If I buy BATTLE OF BODENPLATTE, is this a module or is it stand alone?

It's both, it can be played as a standalone or added as a module/expansion if you already own another part of the game.
