Few questions about the mission editor

  1. There is option to edit surfaces in the mission editor, how to reset if you mess up the surface edit? (See the picture)

I added smoke effects to the mission, but they don't show up?

I added buildings but they aren't drawn, until very close they pop up. Can I control the visibility distance of objects?

1. I would have thought these edits wouldn't stick. Restart the editor and they should be gone. If not, that would be very interesting!

The changes are saved in data/graphics/<name of the map + season>. Check file modification dates, remove the recently changed ones, restart the editor. The original files should be recreated automatically.

2. Could be missing entity, missing play effect MCU, you are too far from the effect. I'm not sure about this, but I think it's possible some effects don't loop, meaning you need to restart them after 12-16s. In any case, the effects don't play in the mission editor, only in the game.

3. No, you cannot control the visibility distance of objects.

Regarding 1: It seems it could be possible to add/remove/move airfields and other surfaces on a map, but you would have to distribute your modifications, and all players that would play your mission would need to install these files. I expect they would also need to remove them before playing regular missions. Too cumbersome to bother, I think. I haven't tested if that works with the game, only had a quick look in the editor
