MigSu Posted November 27, 2017 Posted November 27, 2017 (edited) Hello gentlemen I am also so happy with the announcement about the new BoBP, i love those P38/47, really, but also make me feel so bad and remind me a Topic two years ago: https://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/19158-bos-red-fighter-planes-selectio/?do=findComment&comment=300366 No re refloating old topics, but : -Holding for Pacific project Midway (wich is good, i'm not complaining) -I see now IL2 went to west, to the ending of war 1945, having the best of LW and Allies, the very very best, la crème de la crème. (wich is good, i'm not complaining) -But what about more modern VVS fighters? some guys mentioned about historical participation, but we have Kuban campaign and no signal about the most produced more than 16.700 units and used soviet fighter Yak9 -At the end iL2 for now will be with mm maybe two real good fighters Yak1b/La5FN and "ALL" the germans and ally best fighters. So is impossible to see the only planes comparable to LW like Yak3,9/La7?? Or the solution is adding it as extra collector planes and pay for? Like the new La5FN 1943) don't know release but announced same time the las 1945 LW fighters, even K4,D9,262 coming omg. Thanks for the FN anyway, was waiting for that one years ago, i appreciate it. Please no misunderstand me. My respect to all of you and regards. Edited November 27, 2017 by MigSu
johncage Posted November 27, 2017 Posted November 27, 2017 we have more than enough planes, what we need now is the highly addicting career mode from rof with dynamic frontline and persistent damage.
=RvE=Windmills Posted November 27, 2017 Posted November 27, 2017 I wouldn't expect the current soviet planes to be forced to face a late 44 LW fleet, that would be silly mission design. I'm sure we'll come back to the east later and get all that nice mid/late war stuff in.
Feathered_IV Posted November 27, 2017 Posted November 27, 2017 After this next chapter and it’s Uber-planes, all the subsequent releases will be a downgrade and a harder sell from here on out. They will have to make up the shortfall with better gameplay.

Maybe in a few years time.
Gambit21 Posted November 27, 2017 Posted November 27, 2017 Flying a different theatre with different aircraft isn't a downgrade. Just a different place to play and a different area to fly. Agreed. I enjoy switching between early and late war - completely different feel.

Yes but, against who? another 109 or 190? there are almost all variety starting from 1941, 42, 43, and now late 44/45 so it doesn't make me so much sense, or commercially talking. So where, how, when will be those famous and "Missing" red war birds?? Edited November 27, 2017 by MigSu

So where, how, when will be those famous and "Missing" red war birds?? Admittedly a bit of a tougher arrangement but maybe not. I'm sure some would be loath to buy yet another Bf109 but we could do the G-10, FW190A-9, and then focus efforts on some unique late war German types seen on the east front late in the battle not already done. Bomber variant of the Me410 as one example. Or the bridge busting Do217s of KG100. And of course put them up against Yak-3 and 9U, La-7, late model IL-2 or IL-10, etc. Battle of Berlin done! Could be other arrangements and I don't want to get into the specifics too much. Just to illustrate that there are ways. I have great faith that the team at 1CGS has thought things through and are working with the best medium and long range plan that they can.

Field-Ops Posted November 27, 2017 Posted November 27, 2017 I'm sure they will do a Battle of Berlin scenario with all the absolute latest German and Rusian warbirds. The Yak9 and its variants suit a collector plane well. 1

It will be harder to go back to flying early mid fighters after BOBP.
Feathered_IV Posted November 27, 2017 Posted November 27, 2017 Flying a different theatre with different aircraft isn't a downgrade. Just a different place to play and a different area to fly. Oh I agree. Certainly for me anyway. I think I'm probably in the minority though.
Tomsk Posted November 27, 2017 Posted November 27, 2017 After this next chapter and it’s Uber-planes, all the subsequent releases will be a downgrade and a harder sell from here on out. They will have to make up the shortfall with better gameplay. It's certainly true that BOM didn't sell as well as hoped. I did eventually pick it up, but I was very slow about it. There were a couple of reasons for that, in approximate order of priority. First at the time IL2 had no VR support and I was having too much fun flying VR in DCS. Second I didn't see that BOM gained me a lot of new content, it felt a very similar lineup to Battle of Stalingrad in many ways and most online servers seemed to be perfectly playable with just BoS content. Thirdly, I'm not super into early war planes because I like fast diving, high-speed, heavily armed planes (that's my play style) and they didn't really become a thing until the FW 190 was introduced.

I'm agree, and i am also of minority, but most of players once have the las planes will never play Moscow, Stalingrad, Kuban planes and that is why is in stat case risky movement to release even announce the BOBP now.
56RAF_Roblex Posted November 28, 2017 Posted November 28, 2017 Agreed. I enjoy switching between early and late war - completely different feel. I am the same though looking at the posts here, the opinion seems split. I bought BoM before Bos because I wanted to fly the Mig-3 and the I-16. Many people, myself included, still fly the mig occasionally even when allowed to use later aircraft. I will insult a few people here and say that people who don't buy anything but the latest aircraft are not real pilots anyway because if you only own late war aircraft then you can't fly most of the maps in the more advanced servers so must spend your time in the furball newbie servers Flame On 1
