Noseart?

With the P47 and P38 coming i was wondering if noseart is planned or if its someting for another date.

There are tutorials and it's quite easy to make your own skins and nose arts with gimp!

Dev's have said recently of desire for original IL-2's "decal" system and are aware of it's popularity/potential and is in mind for the future, but currently, as said it is fairly straightforward to add nose art to an existing basic skin for personal use

Good to hear, and yea it´s quite easy to add a nose art to a skin, or make a new skin, did it all the time in the original IL-2, and have started to make some skins in this game but it´s easier to change when you have a decal ingame.

This is a feature that we need. A couple of generic skins with different camouflage (early war, late war, winter, colour variations etc) and the ability to add custom squadron codes or numbers as well as icons and nose art from an existing list.

Would allow for the ability to have a semi-custom aircraft, and give squadrons the ability to differentiate between pilots flying together, as well as allow a bit of individuality.

 

The problem with custom skins is the way they just appear as the default to anyone who doesn't have them. A decal system would still let skin builders use their own, but provide options for those who don't.

Me too I hope they'll add some decal option in the sim.

In the same vein as “it’s easy to make your own art with a paint brush”  but yes.
