In Mission Map Size

There are three modes for map as you press the M key - small, large, and none.  Is there a way to tell the game how much area to display in each mode?  What I am finding is the small map doesn't display anywhere near enough and the large map displays so much that detail is lost.

I dont think so. It seems like it's hardcoded.

Unless someone know how to edit some files, but I doubt it.
