What is the best powerband for the 109f and the Lagg3?

For those of us learning about prop pitch the 'powerband' of an engine is the RPM of the engine where that engine is performing best and giving you the most thrust.    Point being that if you keep in that powerband you will always be getting the most speed you can from your plane.  And so I need to know what that powerband is for our curent 109f and for the Lagg3 we have in this game.  I am guessing that for the 109 the range is 2200-2400 RPM.  I have no clue on the Lagg3.

By the way, that means if I am flying about in our 109 and my RPM is above the powerband I will be going SLOWER and just heat up the engine.

Everything firewalled.  You're not really able to get above the cams/manifold tuning.  You run the most revs and manifold pressure you can (under the circumstances this "limit" might change).  This is basically a function of the low revs these engines run at and the supercharging.

It should be 2550 rpm for the LaGG, at altitudes below full throttle altitude (where the boost starts dropping off). At higher altitudes, higher engine rpm will mean higher supercharger rpm which will allow it to provide the engine with higher boost, and overall the engine will produce more power. The exact full throttle altitude depends on air speed, and also there are two because of the two supercharger gears.

In a climb scenario, fly at 2550 rpm, when you see boost dropping increase to 2700, when you see boost dropping again climb another 500m, engage second supercharger gear, reduce to 2550, when you see boost dropping again increase to 2700 and leave it there up to service ceiling. That should give best performance. I haven't been able to verify that this is accurately modelled in game, it appears to not be the case, with 2700 rpm giving at least the same power output as 2550 rpm do.

The 109 has boost and rpm linked, so highest power output is full throttle.
