madcowz Posted November 23, 2017 Posted November 23, 2017 Amazon have matched the Oculus price and they are available right now. Just bought mine. See you in the skies on Monday!
SCG_Fenris_Wolf Posted November 24, 2017 Posted November 24, 2017 Congratulations! Here, have an old Scotsh, and a cigar. Enjoy your time in the VR club! Thaf's an owder!
MiK684 Posted November 24, 2017 Posted November 24, 2017 Enjoy your VR experience I am still overwhelmed every time i play with my Rift Cheers
dburne Posted November 24, 2017 Posted November 24, 2017 Indeed welcome to the club, you are in for a treat!
slojani Posted November 24, 2017 Posted November 24, 2017 Hay to all, After all the dilemmas, what should I buy instead of Oculus Rift, which broke down two months ago, I accepted today the decision that the purchase of the new oculus rift is the only real compensation for the defective. So I ordered a new one. I can no longer wait for what the future of the new HMD will bring and do not play VR until then.
SCG_Fenris_Wolf Posted November 26, 2017 Posted November 26, 2017 Buy one from an official seller only though, or a local trusted electronics market that will take back a damaged headset (rare aswell) Oculus Support is terrible, they don't help you with anything if you don't do that..
Dakpilot Posted November 26, 2017 Posted November 26, 2017 Locally it is about £900 from official discount retailer, and that is the 'holiday' special price :-( Cheers Dakpilot
madcowz Posted November 28, 2017 Author Posted November 28, 2017 Fired IL2 up last night after a couple of days playing Robot Recall and wow.Need to change a lot of config as it was running slowly, I've got a list from another thread and will run through that first before coming back here if I need to.
dburne Posted November 28, 2017 Posted November 28, 2017 Fired IL2 up last night after a couple of days playing Robot Recall and wow. Need to change a lot of config as it was running slowly, I've got a list from another thread and will run through that first before coming back here if I need to. Congrats and welcome to the club. Robo Recall is a treat for sure!. Tip for IL-2 - do not fly with the HUD activated.
dburne Posted November 30, 2017 Posted November 30, 2017 mine is in the post   Congrats! I look forward to hearing your thoughts on it.
madcowz Posted December 1, 2017 Author Posted December 1, 2017 Congrats! I look forward to hearing your thoughts on it. My thoughts are wow. VR is a game changer. I can now hit things whereas before I was constantly missing. IL2 in VR is a totally different experience and like others have said, I will never be able to go back to a monitor again. It's also making me fly without he HUD which is a good thing and I'm enjoying using the dials. Even simple things are totz amazing, like leaning forward and looking through the flare tube, watching the 109 stabalizer wheel turn, buttons going in. Hell, just starting an engine is fun to watch. Love it It's taking some tweaking to get the settings right. Also I have had to send my 1070 back as it was faulty so I am back on my old 970 but I have managed to OC my i5-6600 up to 4.5 and sped up my Ram so hoping that when the card comes back the whole PC will be faster. And I'm also having a blast in Lucky's Tale ;-)
