American Aircraft Speculation

So, what do you think will be the first American Aircraft released for Bodenplatte and when do you think it will be released? Not one ported over from the Eastern Front, that doesn't count. Let's juice it up a little. I will donate a premium AC to the person who guesses the right AC and the closest date to actual release. Probably a D-9 or P-38 but whatever you want/don't have. We shall see, we shall see.

I'm going with P-51 and July 4th. (If we tie you still get the premium AC. No more than two winners - first to pick plane and date.)

Have fun......................

I want the Jug to be the first but I think its going to be the P-51 as well. My guess would be that it will release sometime in late July maybe early august. exact date maybe July 20?

I have no basis to make a "what I think" comment.

However since I'm building a P-47 campaign after the A-20 campaign is finished...I'm hoping it's the Jug.

If it's the P-51 I'll build some missions for it while I wait. Biggest factor is when do I get my hands on the map.

With the map I can start building using another aircraft for a stand-in like I'm doing now.

Actually I think I'll make the P-47 campaign in a P-38 version as well...more bang for the buck given all that work. :)

Not enough time to build for the Spit or Tempest unfortunately.

So my vote/hope...Jug.

I might have to be like the lottery and DQ employees, family members, and testers :)

I'll build a "Battle of Y-29" mission for the Mustang and Jug just like I did with the old sim.

However it never plays out like it did in real life unless the German aircraft are all AI.

Add human 190 or 109 pilots and at least a few Mustangs or Jugs die usually.

The P-51. March 6, 2018. ;)

Well, since so far I have rarely been incorrect in my Predictions:

Spit Mk.IX first, followed by Tempest. Then P-38L and P-51 and the P-47 most likely last.

The Spit will come before the others...question was which American AC.

You say P-38 before the others eh?

I'm guessing Mustang or Jug before the P-38.

I think all your dates are nuts...

I'll throw in with P-51, November 1st 2018

Complete speculation:

May: Spitfire IX

June: Bf109G-14

July: Bf109K-4

August: FW190A-8

September: FW190D-9

October: P-51

November: P-47

December: Tempest

January: P-38

February: Me262

Mostly made up based on perceived effort and saving the most complex aircraft for last. The easiest will be variants of ones that we already have like the Spit and 109.

Complete guess.

To commemorate the Operation.

P-51     1 Jan 2019

EDIT:     Although I doubt any normal/sane person would be working either on 31 Dec or 1 Jan for this to happen!!!!!

This seems likely but I hope we get at least one US aircraft rather early. I'm ready for something new. I also feel like since the US aircraft are the ones that will draw the biggest crowds (imo) it'd be smart to release them sooner.

Well, they also push out the Collector Aircraft early. That's why I think the P-38 will be the first American Aircraft.

I think if my memory serves me right, Jason once alluded to the fact of the P-38 being his favorite aircraft, so my monies on the Fork Tailed Devil. :yahoo:

My bet is P-51 around October 25th.

EDIT: changed my decision about which aircraft. P-51 is most similar in technologies currently (in-line engine, conventional fuselage, etc)

I'm curious why you think the US AC will draw the biggest crowds ? I'm looking forward to flying them because they will be new toys in the toy box, but that applies to all the others too.

I'm actually looking forward to having my City in an Il-2 Scenario.

The P-51 is the absolute Mainstream and it has some cool words attached to it, like "Laminar Flow Wing" and "Meredith Effect" and "Supercharger" and "Bubble Canopy", which is a mystery to me, especially when people talk about how the P-40 didn't have one and forget that pretty much all Aircraft, except the 109, had a Bubble in that Period.

The main Reason for that I believe is your Media trying to construct an Underdog story, because Heroes aren't born of superiority.

Mustang, November 2018....And Murff, I don't need to be included in your generous donation event. Will preorder premium edition myself as always. Just waiting for the reimbursement of my last business trip to Hamburg ;)

The first US aircraft will be the Anglo-German one, released after the Spit IX with which it shares most of the same engine

P-38 -  1 September 2018 Labor Day Weekend

P-38 will come first like the rest of the collector planes, plus the engine is already modeled in the P-40. Less work.

True but there is a lot of complexity in the new systems + turbos on P-38 Allisons

I think there is even hope that the Mustang could be first allied plane for marketing reasons helped by similarity with Packard Merlin and current Spit V, I think it has more systems in common than P-40 and P-38, personally looking forward to all of them!
