After kuban is that it for the eastern front? Can all the content be made into 1 game?

Its a good way to piss a lot of people off who just paid full price for the three previous theaters. My vote is no.

A company that is is economically dependent on its customers' sense of entitlement is a company that will immediately seek other sources of income despite the previous customers.

That being said, bundles - and I am 100 % positive they will eventually be a thing - are probably pretty far in the future.

why would they sell it for over 100 dollars?

Because that would be absolutly diametral to the sale of newer theatres. Bos and BoM cost 47 $ each, BoK will cost something like 55 $, but lets assume its at 47 $ too at Bodenplatte release. You would then save 41 $ if you bought the combined pack. Thats ~ 30% less than for the packs seperately and about as expansive as 2 packs bought together.

Again you are forgetting the entire purpose of selling this pack in the first place. Which would be to generate as many sales as possible

I just don't see that purpose, thats not how this works, there will not be an unlimited amount of new players joining just because you sell a pack for 60 $ with 30 planes and 3 maps. Just because its cheap it doesn't mean it sells well. This content is expansive and simulators are a niche. You need to want to fly a simulator to buy it and then it doesn't really matter if it is 10 planes or 30. (only an already dedicated simmer would care here). If you like the game I'm sure you will buy the 100$ pack after you saved some money for it and its still 'cheap' considering the content. The idea of the pack for me would be to give players that are late to the game a chance to catch up with the rest at a price point that is not too steep. All tech that we see is also incorporated into the mentioned modules, it's not just selling already developed stuff.

But if you sell a whole 30 planes, 3 maps, 3 careers etc for 60 bucks and then ask 60 bucks for 10 planes of a new expansion people will yell at you how unfair this is. This content just has it's price.

I'm all for a pack but not for a sellout.

What I really think could change much though is the demo, really looking forward to that and if people then like the content they could join for a fair price point. Not too mention that this 100$ combined pack will also enter sales.

It took a very log time for the original Il-2 to go to the complete edition and then a lot of moaning to get the last 3 releases  (pe-2,1946, and Sturmovics over Manchuria) combined into a single release.

Didn't I read about a demo version? 2 free planes and a map? Theres your introduction and it costs nothing.

Sorry Jordan already mentioned that. Ignore this post.

Personally after getting the hotrod pack , I see no reason to continue with Battle of Kursk. We already got a lot of the planes, and it should fit nicely with this Tank pack .

Kursk should be the one pack still remaining

Only 5 years; IL-2 was first released in 2001 and 1946 in 2006. Not that I expect BoX to follow suit.

It was also in development at least 3 years, if not 4, prior to 2001.

Of course, yes. I just mean from release, which was 2001. Things were also different then, with no pre-releases or pre-ordering and I certainly don't expect a 1946-esq compilation within 5 years!

why not 60? Again you are forgetting the entire purpose of selling this pack in the first place. Which would be to generate as many sales as possible and bring people into the community and likely in turn helping fund the new projects with pre-orders. A more complete il2 experience for the cost of a normal game would be the perfect marketable way to do this. As VR gets more popular , simulators are going to get more popular too and you need to stay competitive. But when simulators these days are costing more money than multiple games its just not interesting to the average person. For example. I have wanted to buy the mig21 DCS module for a long time but i just cant justify the price for one plane (i dont make much money) So i wait for sales.

Imagine a brand new il2 product with over 30 planes , 3 theaters, and new multiplayer functionality for the cost of a brand new game. It would be wildly popular (in comparison to now of course)

You price a game at 100 dollars and it will likely sell less than 3 packs costing 40 bucks a pop.

Where do you come up with $60? Why not $61? Break it down by hours played and it is a bargain even if you only play 10 -20 hours. Perhaps, whatever your line of work is, you could discount your product or services to the point it doesn't provide a sustainable source of income. I'll bet people will come a runnin'.

I think they could start selling Eastern Front packs for ~100 $ once Operation Bodenplatte is released. That would be standard edition if BoS, BoM and BoK maps, campaigns and planes etc. Then for 150 $ a premium pack additionally containing all eastern front collector planes could be sold.

If this guy is balking at $49-$79 for a theater now, he sure isn't going to pay over $100.

As BorysVorobyov mentioned maybe someone will give it to him. That would be a shame to waste a free copy I think. :P

Simply, it is a sound idea but severely premature. Sales are not quite quarterly and, regardless of whether you buy here or on steam, they are steam capable. Save up, get your Hotas and TiR, then buy at 30-50% off depending on the next sale.

Buy all three and pretend it’s a bundle. See what I did there? Win/win.

After all, pretending is what we are all doing in this game anyway.

Oh yeah, the OP contained a question.

“No”

It is too early to ask that. Give it time, for when the Battle of Bodenplatte pack will be released, the time is right for a bundle of BoS/BoM. When Rise of Flight addon is released, the time is right for a bundle of BoS/BoM/BoK.

I know of quite a few guys who don't get into BoX, because they deem it too expensive in total. They do compare it to old 1946, fail at CloD's TF installation, mappings, cockpits, and free WarThunder. Hey! Hold your horses, I also do not agree with that - but it is reality. The point is, there should be a lot of potential left in the market to cash that cow again in mid 2018, with a lower price. Mentioning anything about such plans right now would be detrimental, so don't hope for a direct answer by Mister Williams ;)

The current pricing of BoX products is relatively reasonable. Yes, it is crazy compared to 1946, but times have changed and (perhaps unfortunately) people no longer accept 1024x1024 textures.

For the price of one aircraft in DCS, we get 8 aircraft + map + entire ecosystem.

WT is 'free', but unlocking interesting things without spending days grinding can easily take several hundred dollars.

Of course, there are a few inexpensive products out there, but they usually feature game-breaking flaws.

Yeah Berlin could be excellent. Since all the main Luftwaffe types would already be available from Bodenplatte, there would be an opportunity to visit some very interesting but perhaps less significant aircraft.

I was in my early teens at the time... just realised that's why I remember it taking far longer between the first release and '46.
