As the announcement for BOBP states, "Although it was technically an “operation”, for continuity sake, we’re calling it a battle! Battle of Bodenplatte will explore the air war near the end of 1944 and into 1945." I am only presenting this as an informational, Meteor F.3's entered the area of Bodenplatte three weeks after the event and were not allowed operate over german held territory (they still performed a lot of work), however that's within the continuity sake outlined.

A couple of videos:

No sound unfortunately:

So, pro's and con's?

Well in January 45 there were only a handful on the continent; and they didn't begin serious operations until March-April when they had more of them. I think they accounted less that 100 destroyed aircraft, and most on the ground.

Meanwhile the 262 had been operating for a few months, with quite a few kills by the time Bodenplatte started.

Somebody who knows more will be along to correct me though.

So I guess Pro: Cool jet

Con: Not much impact on the operation

Meteor would be fantastic. No more or less ahistorical than 190A3s over Stalingrad.

And it would allow us the chance to see what would have happened if the Me 262 and Meteor ever met in combat...
