SvAF/F19_Klunk Posted November 18, 2017 Posted November 18, 2017 Yet another great airplane, which I am truly looking forward to fly... the fork-tailed devil...again presented by Roaring Glory Discuss 3
CanadaOne Posted November 18, 2017 Posted November 18, 2017 Of all the new planes, the P-38 is the one I'll probably fly most. If it gets the full BOX attention to detail, it's going to be gorgeous!
Archie Posted November 18, 2017 Posted November 18, 2017 Interesting him talking about the complexities of the fuel system on the P-38, that's what killed him.
SvAF/F19_Klunk Posted November 19, 2017 Author Posted November 19, 2017 Oh, I didn’t know that. You are right; Jeff Ethell died in a P38 Crash. So sad

SvAF/F19_Klunk Posted November 19, 2017 Author Posted November 19, 2017 Amazing pics... something comletely different than the polished air show planes we see. Just look at the wethering on this spit http://media.ww2color.com/images/00011.jpg
Rjel Posted February 24, 2018 Posted February 24, 2018 ..his entire collection of color ww2 photos was made available to the public after his Deathstars http://www.ww2color.com/search/webapps/slides/slides.php Thanks for the link to his picture collection. I'd had this link years ago but forgotten it. I really enjoyed reading and watching Jeff Ethell's work in documentaries. As I remember the story of his death, he stayed too long in the P-38 trying save the plane from as spin. His father, who'd been a Lightning pilot in WWII, watched the crash.
