Chat Text Comms in VR

Has anyone came up with a reasonable way, solution to be able to use multiplayer chat while in VR effectively ?

Has anyone came up with a reasonable way, solution to be able to use multiplayer chat while in VR effectively ? 

 

I tried accessing the VR camera, to use my keyboard, but that doesn't really work as you can't make out the keys.

 

It would be really good to be able to type/communicate to other players, often they think we're ignoring them or don't want to communicate.

 

Perhaps, on the in map screens, a "slide-out keyboard", like the briefing screen, we could use with the mouse would be a good start?

 

if we could also put our position and altitude in the txt buffer with a single key press, that would be kewl too.

No, do you? if so does it easily turn speech into txt?

Fortunately for me, I can type chat messages without looking at the keys.

 

If you aren't far of being able to do this yourself, feel for the bumps on 'F' or 'J', or type a few letters and identify how far off the correct keys you are from the input.

Sorry, I have no other suggestions that I have personally tested out.

 

Jump on the BOS official Teamspeak server if on Wings of Liberty, most English speaking players reside there. On teamspeak, your need to type chat messages is reduced significantly.

95% of the time, HUD is off anyway in VR so you won't see the messages.

Well I have VA but I don´t really use it. But I know that you can set it up so that it turns your speech into text.

Malic_VR (Twitch Streamer) uses it for allmost everything and he showed that he can "record" speech and paste it as text.

This completely. Although the voice attack suggestion is an interesting one. I have no experience/idea if it could be used as speech to text software though.
