Virtual Reality : play VR with steamVR or no need ?

Hello there :

I have Pimax 4K  with Driver4VR  and I  happy to play Elite Dangerous with SteamVR now I like to use my Pimax to play IL2 and ROF which I did not order from steram. but order direct to dev.'s website

 

1) Can I play IL2 in VR with out steamVR  ?  if  yes please give me the link for How to :D

2) Can I get steam key from order of IL2 BOS  (pre-onder on Oct. 12, 2013) ?

No, you can't.

I think you might, but I'm not sure.

 

Note however that SteamVR is different from Steam. You don't need to have the game in Steam to run SteamVR. I routinely run the game in SteamVR (simply starting the game starts SteamVR if it isn't running already), I only start Steam if when I want to play 11 table tennis or some other game I have in VR.
