Guest deleted@50488 Posted November 10, 2017 Posted November 10, 2017 There are hints at the Condorsoaring Forum site about the imminent release of Condorsoaring v2, or at least a release until the end of 2017, making a 11 yr period between versions :-) , and bringing, for sure, again the most advanced high quality soaring simulator to simmers and rw glider pilots looking for the chance to feel as real as it can get in a personal computer... Meanwhile, thanks to the excellent community around Condor, I've been enjoying my flights in Portugal (scenery Portugal v1.1 available like many many others from condor-club.eu) I leave here a link to a post about a yet a new recently released scenery for the Himalayas: http://forum.condorsoaring.com/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=17482 Take a break and please also give a look at the great videos linked there ( youtubes of real flights in the Himalayas ). Get Ready for Condorsoaring v2 !!!
Bullets Posted November 10, 2017 Posted November 10, 2017 oooooooo very excited! Not played it since I bought a new pc and couldn't transfer my old copy over or re-download a new version =(
=TBAS=Sshadow14 Posted November 10, 2017 Posted November 10, 2017 x plane 9/10/11 would have to be best sim for Gliding as it has the best wind/weather simulation of any cival or military flight sim and is still used by nasa
Guest deleted@50488 Posted November 10, 2017 Posted November 10, 2017 TBAS , don't think we can, even by far, compare X-Plane to Condorsoaring, not even at the flight Dynamics level, what more if we get to the weather engine. Gliders in X-plane, even with their polars translated to the corresponding airfoils, and with a detailled design perform way behind what Condor offers. Weather, soaring weather, is so limited in the way it is implemented in X-plane, being it convective, orographic or any combination of teh two, that we don't even have thermals affected by the wind, and the mounatin effect is rather limited. Of course, for a general purpose sim, X-plane does at least a better job than MSFS, but for instance never achieved better results than even the good old Flight Unlimited 1 and Flight Unlimited 3...
6./ZG26_5tuka Posted November 15, 2017 Posted November 15, 2017 (edited) Looking forward to a professional glider simulator for training purposes (currently only Aerofly FS2 has been on my watchlist). Found Condor V1 too expensive for the old tech it offers but am happy to give B2 a try once it's availabel (hopefully with multiplayer). x plane 9/10/11 would have to be best sim for Gliding as it has the best wind/weather simulation of any cival or military flight sim and is still used by nasaX plane can't even get their ASK21 right which is virtually one of the easiest planes to model. Their thermal model is also primitive so is their turbulence system not to talk about more adcanced meteoroligy. It's a sim that is trying to do everything and suceeding in little. Their Cessna and landscape tech is quite nice. Edited November 15, 2017 by 6./ZG26_5tuka
