ICDP Posted January 25, 2018 Posted January 25, 2018 (edited) I have been working on new weathering layers and some other changes to my Fw190-a5 4k template. Improved metal chipping Improved rivet dirt Improved noise layers The aim was to replace the existing template weahtering to something more realistic as was seen on real Fw190s. Sometimes less is more, so here are a couple of generic skins with a light amount of weathering and a fairly glossy finish. 1x east front generic and 1x west front generic skin. http://www.mediafire.com/file/glghpt6kw853dz7/Fw190A5_4k_Generic_Light_Weathering.zip Enjoy Edited January 25, 2018 by ICDP 13

Madcop Posted February 9, 2018 Posted February 9, 2018 Skin 4k fw190 A-5 JG 51 geschwaderkommodore Joachim Muncheberg's Russia Hello Julian. As usual your skin is beautiful BUT... I don't know your sources for this one, but Muncheberg has never been Geschwader Kommodore of JG51, not even Gruppe Kommandeur. At that time the Geschwader Kommodore was Oberstleutnant. Karl-Gottfried Nordmann, 10. April 1942.Muncheberg had only a 2 months stay there to learn his future tasks. Your skin is supposed to represent the Aircraft of the Gruppe Kommandeur of IJG51. "On 19 September, Müncheberg was promoted to the rank of Hauptmann and appointed Gruppenkommandeur of II./JG 26. On 22 July 1942, Müncheberg was posted to the Eastern Front to join JG 51. On 5 September, he recorded his 100th victory. On 9 September, he was awarded the Schwertern (Nr 19) following his 103rd victory. Müncheberg achieved 33 victories over Russian aircraft (84 – 116). However, Müncheberg was shot down twice during his four weeks on the Eastern Front. On 1 October 1942, Major Müncheberg was appointed Kommodore of JG 77, operating over North Africa, Sicily and Tunisia." From www.luftwaffe.cz/muncheberg.html Looking forward to read you. Madcop
E69_julian57 Posted February 9, 2018 Author Posted February 9, 2018 (edited) Hi Madcop, my sources are the wiki this skin was an idea of a person from the forum that asked me the A-3 A-5 of said pilot, the A-3 was used in the western front Gruppenkommandeur de II./JG 26 "Schlageter" and an image that I provide shows it with the info of the wiki. On the A-5 on the Russian front, I had my doubts that I would use it by dates (I think the A-5 began to be supplied at 43). And on the wiki I found this. "His first big task was to re-equip the JG 51 with the Fw 190. Under his leadership, JG 51 became the first combat wing on the Eastern Front to equip with this guy, he got his first victory in the east, on August 3, 1942, the downing of two Petliakov Pe-2 dive bomber near Rzhev. " Therefore if I use the fw190 and it could be A-3 or A-4. The big question is the badge that I carry on the plane in that period, I did not find photos until now. Actually, it's a fictitious skin. I will put a number 1 of I / JG51. Edited February 9, 2018 by E69_julian57

I will put a number 1 of I / JG51. Hie Julian , for your info, If Müncheberg ever flew a 190 in JG51 ( 22.7.42 to 1.10.42) it must have been a Fw 190A-3; Early Focke-Wulf FW 190s on the Eastern Front: The FW 190 A-1, A-2 and A-3 with Jagdgeschwader 51 By Andrew Arthy "Introduction In late-1942 elements of Jagdgeschwader 51 gave up their Messerschmitt Bf 109s to convert to the Focke-Wulf FW 190. Although by this time the FW 190 had been in service for an entire year on the English Channel with Jagdgeschwader 26, J.G. 51 was to be the first Luftwaffe fighter unit to fly the radial-engined aircraft in action on the Eastern Front. The Stab of Jagdgeschwader 51 converts to the FW 190 [1] The Stab of J.G. 51 did not receive its first FW 190s until November 1942. It operated only a handful of FW 190 A-3s, before receiving the newer A-4 and A-5 variants early in 1943. However, in July 1943 the Stab of J.G. 51 took on twelve FW 190 A-3s from repair, keeping these until August. The Stabsstaffel of Jagdgeschwader 51 converts to the FW 190 [2] The Stabsstaffel of J.G. 51, formed from the 6. Staffel of J.G. 51 in late-1942, did not operate the FW 190 A-2 or A-3. The Flugzeugbestand und Bewegungsmeldungen say the unit took on nine new FW 190 A-3s in January 1943, but subsequent entries for the unit in February and March 1943 would indicate that these were actually FW 190 A-4s. The I. Gruppe of Jagdgeschwader 51 converts to the FW 190 [3] In August 1942 Hauptmann Heinrich Krafft's I. Gruppe of Jagdgeschwader 51 converted to the Focke-Wulf 190 at Jesau, near Königsberg in East Prussia. The last victories claimed by the Gruppe with the Bf 109 came in the first week of August 1942. Later in the month the unit took on strength a single FW 190 A-1, ten FW 190 A-2s, and 32 FW 190 A-3s. Elements of the unit returned to the Eastern Front towards the end of August. The first aerial victory to be claimed in the FW 190 by the Gruppe was by Leutnant Hans Boos of 2./J.G. 51, who shot down a Hurricane at 17:25 on 24 August 1942 in Pl.Qu. 47 843 from an altitude of 800 m. This was his 32nd victory. On 29 August 1942 a I./J.G. 51 FW 190 was damaged on a mission, although there was no enemy involvement in the incident. All of I./J.G. 51 arrived back on the Eastern Front on 6 September 1942. The unit was first based at Lyuban, south of Leningrad, and initially flew Freie Jagd missions in Schwarm and Rotte strength, to get used to their new fighter. The unit was soon transferred south of Lake Ilmen, taking part in the fighting in the Demyansk area, 300 km south-south-east of Leningrad. The first FW 190 losses recorded by the Gruppe occurred during September 1942. For example, on 11 September 1942 FW 190 A-3 W.Nr 2149 pf 3./J.G. 51 suffered twenty per cent damage at Ljuban in a crash due to undercarriage problems. The first FW 190 of I./J.G. 51 lost in combat was on 29 September 1942. During September the unit's sole FW 190 A-1 was sent to be overhauled, and until February 1943 - when the first FW 190 A-4s arrived - the unit had on strength only FW 190 A-2s and A-3s. In October 1942 I./J.G. 51 transferred south to the Rzhev-Vyazma salient, operating from Vyazma-Süd and Orel. The last I./J.G. 51 FW 190 A-2s and A-3s went off strength in August 1943. The first victories claimed with the FW 190 by elements of I./J.G. 51 were as follows: Stab I./J.G. 51: 29.09.42 1./J.G. 51: 30.09.42 2./J.G. 51: 24.08.42 3./J.G. 51: 30.10.42" Hope this helps. Keep on with your nice work. Congrats. Madcop P.S. Have look there. Nice one for you http://falkeeins.blogspot.be/2011/09/colour-shot-of-jg-51-fw-190.html
JG77-FluGb0t- Posted February 9, 2018 Posted February 9, 2018 (edited) Muncheberg was at Stab/JG51, not I./JG 51. E69_julian57 Posted March 9, 2018 Author Posted March 9, 2018 Hi Madcop, the small difference is the balken of the fuselage, in the 1st this one in typical black color, but after finishing the template and publishing it, as always I begin to see failures and oblivions and by the image and photos of the A-5 of Priller It was colored RLM74.
