Kuban release (Day)

I've been searching the forms to see if this question has already been answered, but no luck! But is there a General release day for Kuban? I can only find it's release to be December; so should I expect December 1st?

December 2017/January 2018.

There is no approximate date. Hang tight - it'll be ready when it's ready.

If it comes out on December the 31st I will be pleasantly surprised. Most titles I've been following have been delayed by months or even years. If 1CGS need an extra month or two, I for one am prepared to cut them some slack

I don’t think I’ve ever seen this team miss a deadline by much more than a month, so my guess is still “official” release (in the form of update 3.001) in late December and then a significant update 3.002 in early February which will polish all the features and add a few new ones officially completing BoK.

I'd like to know when the next pre-order is up for grabs, so I don't blow my money on anything else a day before it is out!

What do you mean?  The pre-order has been on sale for months, it is the final product we are waiting for.

Kuban will be considered complete at the end of the year or sometime in January 2018. Since we are in Early Access you can enjoy the sim now as we finish the final bits. I suggest buying soon before the price goes up to $79.99. Early Access customers get a discount.

As others have said: If you want the best deal you definitely should go get BoK right now, no need to wait. It’s not gonna get cheaper than it is now for quite a while.

Since it's obvious Pinko already purchased BOK I'm fairly certain he is referring to the 109 G-6 or La-5FN preorder.

I want me my F4F already. F4F vs E-7 is gonna be wonderful. And I think it will be a great Ground Attacker.

I don't mind if the final release is late, but I do hope we get a taste of something to tide us over.

A P-39 or A-20 would work splendidly.

At the very least it would be nice to have the skin templates so I can start work on them but we don't even have the IL-2 43 Mod template yet. Perhaps they are too busy getting the aircraft finished.

The Wildcat won't have much ground attack capability, IIRC it only carried 2 x 100lb (around 45.3 kg) bombs.  It was the Hellcat the one which could carry good bombs and rockets.

Doesn't matter if you have brownings

It goes reaaaally, reaaaally slow, really tight and .50 cals, and it carries a modest Bombload and 30 Seconds of Firing Time. It's sturdy, armored, manouverable, Good Forward View.

What's not to like about it?

Since we're here... has there been anything mentioned about the A-20 payload?

I think it was mentioned that we'll get up to 1800kg with external Racks.

We get updates showing us what to expect. That should be enough. It's just an extra month, maybe. Maybe more by a few weeks, it's not 4 months to years like some other developers.

It's fine to hold off until the final compilation since it takes extra effort to isolate certain elements to compile as a patch that can introduce other bugs.

In a perfect world full of people with the patience of Job, maybe.

Here? Unlikely.

I want a P-39 or an A-20 to tide me over, thank you very much. :P  "Pffft!"

We'll probably get 3.01 and see a final and polished release in 3.02. That's how I remember Battle of Moscow working anyways.

Absolutely. I meant it as a general statement. It was not directed at Pinko. Lots of people are still waiting for the official launch to buy BoK, and there is really no reason to.

Thing is for me is I'm really, really not interested in either the Spit or the Henschell. It makes more sense for me personally to wait for the standard edition and pre order the LA5 FN, and probably the G6

your missing out. 1CGS have done a wonderful job with all these birds. They are all great fun to fly, learning their quirks, what they can and can't do.

When you consider how much time and effort must go in to making the flight models simulate as closely as possible their real life counterparts even if as you say, you never even try out the Spit or the Henschell, it's still very good value for money, particularly if you have already, and plan to continue spending many hours in this sim.

I thought the same as the OP, buy the standard edition and then get the spit, but to be honest in the past I've always ended up buying the other planes anyway and thinking of the amount of available hours you can enjoy with this sim, the dollar per hour starts to make sense when compared to other forms of entertainment or even other purchasable items. I've always found it interesting learning other aircraft that I'd dismiss out of hand to end up really liking or finding these other aircraft a different challenge to master.

Well said. The dollar per hour thing is the key thing for me so when I play a few hundred hours with this sim at minimum the dollar per hour starts to come down dramatically. You can't spend more wisely than that really.

I always encourage folks to try new planes and get into things that they don't normally find themselves in. I always thought myself most interested in fighters but over time I've gravitated to strike/attack/bomber types more and more. It's an odd transition for me but its happened because I decided to try flying something different.

Unless you are patient enough to wait so you can give the maximum amount of dollars to the devs. I'll probably wait for the 109G6 and LA5-FN to be out of early access to buy.... but no guarantees

I've been flying the Lagg lately and enjoying it so much more than I ever imagined. I doubt I'd flown it 2-3 times since early access way back when. As S-O-5 said, we all probably gravitate to a handful of favorites and never really explore all there is to enjoy in this sim. The money I've spent on it has really been a value dollar investment.

Lol my dollar per hour must be .0000000079

Am I missing something? By my calculations it is silly to decide to wait until the standard version of BoK comes out then add a Spitfire.

If you buy BoK now you get the Spit and HS-129 as well for $69.99.  If you decide you don't want a HS-129, just a spit, and wait for the spit to be released as a collectors aircraft then you will pay $49.99 for the base version of BoK plus $19.99 for the spit so you save $.02 by not having both plus you have to wait longer to fly the spitfire.

Did I get a calculation wrong?

Maybe he's a scotsman

Oh, and BTW, it is only $.01, he is saving.
