MarcoPegase44 Posted November 5, 2017 Posted November 5, 2017 (edited) Hello Pat, The airlift on Stalingrad is it planned for interception missions in PWCG3 ??? This would be a very interesting point for the realism of transport missions with JU 52 and HE111. Thank you very much for all this work Edited November 5, 2017 by MarcoPegase44 1
PatrickAWlson Posted November 5, 2017 Posted November 5, 2017 No Ju52 or transport missions in PWCG yet. It is on the to-do list but getting Kuban in place is the top priority right now.
xvii-Dietrich Posted November 5, 2017 Posted November 5, 2017 The Ju 52 is poorly served by the existing scoring system that is built into BoX. This is where a separate campaign system would really shine for transport and supply missions. It would be fantastic to see the Ju 52 in the PW-CG.
PatrickAWlson Posted November 5, 2017 Posted November 5, 2017 It''s a bit of a challenge because the Ju52 needs mission types that only make sense at certain points in time. Generic transport missions would carve lines through the air behind your own lines. Not incredibly interesting. Relief missions and paratroop drops are much more interesting, but are time sensitive. PWCG does not have that capability yet. I would like to introduce "special missions" where the player is given an opportunity to do something with an unusual plane type. I would further like to skew mission types and targets based on place and date. Once those are in the Ju52 will make sense ass an interesting addition.
MarcoPegase44 Posted November 5, 2017 Author Posted November 5, 2017 The Stalingrad air bridge took place in winter in bad weather at low altitude ... this can give interesting interception missions and contribute a little more to the historical immersion. In addition there was no harm of evacuations and refueling by planes on the Eastern front
gad11 Posted November 7, 2017 Posted November 7, 2017 I would love the Ju-52 in PWCG. What about just assigning them ground attack missions? But instead of attacking targets they are dropping paratroopers (that will take out the target on the ground, in our imaginations of course) or air drop supplies (to German forces behind enemy lines), etc?
