Spontaneous teamwork and a really fun MP experience

I jumped on WOL this past weekend for a couple of hours - the first time I've really been able to sit down and play for long enough to really get into something. I started flying some missions in the Bf110E-2 mostly doing low level strikes against different types of targets. I spontaneously ended up teaming up with another player flying the 110 and it ended up becoming a really fun experience.

 

He flew lead on three strikes that we flew. Two ended with the targets damaged but we were then shot down. One more was a complete success thanks to a Bf109 pilot sticking by us and nailing a La-5 at the last minute before he finished me off. We did a lot of damage to our targets and it really made me appreciate the Bf110 even more. Such a fun and sometimes maybe even under appreciated strike aircraft. What a blast.

 

I had such a good time that I'm making my track recordings into a cinematic video to be posted whenever I can finish it.

 

Incredible gameplay experience and fun teamwork. This is what IL-2 multiplayer is all about and it was tons of fun. I hope to hop on and recreate that sometime again soon but more importantly I wanted to share what multiplayer can be like if you try and find people who will fly with you or coordinate their missions with yours. Just takes a little typing on the keyboard and perhaps a bit of serendipity.

1./JG-54 had six online last night flying Bf-110's on WoL.............  first on Kuban map and then Moscow...........  took out a lot of targets and had a blast................ it is more fun when you can fly with friends.  We enjoy blowing stuff up and helping win the map.

Saw that on the Kuban map. We were racing to take out our objective when the alarm of 6 110s heading for our warehouses came out. We couldn't stop a phalanx like that from taking out our concentrated objective (meanwhile our last target was an armoured column). It was very cool, well done.

Good to see that you are enjoying MP Shamrock. I came across a video from checksix today, that was cut together well, and I think really portrays how exciting MP engagements can be.

MP engagements can be really quite impressively exciting. But I think the best part about the whole thing was actually just the formation flying at high speeds and low altitudes with someone flying on the same target. Just such a cool visual and fun teamwork all wrapped up together in one. It didn't matter that I got shot down a few times.

 

BTW, I've now completed my cinematic based on this multiplayer session. It was really that fun!
