Diggun Posted October 31, 2017 Posted October 31, 2017 ...Sweetest words I have read in a long time. 'Delivery date 7th Nov' less so. I want my new toy now damnit! I am assuming that track ir will make me an instant Biggles/Jedi level aerial killing machine, right?? :D
dburne Posted October 31, 2017 Posted October 31, 2017 Congrats, you will certainly find it a game changer!
Archie Posted October 31, 2017 Posted October 31, 2017 Not sure about making you a Biggles but it sure helps with the immersion! I'm still using, and very happy with, my old TiR3, and wouldn't be able to play without it.

I am assuming that track ir will make me an instant Biggles/Jedi level aerial killing machine, right?? :D Having a stick with hall sensors is key, and I just got some Crosswinds delivered (they are magical), but by far and away the thing that turned me from horribad into strictly average was TrackIR... Just be careful with that ProClip! It's absolute trash and will fall apart faster than an American college kid... but the system itself is, in my opinion, foundationally critical to any simulation (unless you have VR, but TiR is empirically superior for a sim like this at the moment) I actually ordered a wireless Pro-Clip replacement from this cat in Poland, he has a waiting list, but with the A50 headset I have I figured these'd be really nice: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=159647
Diggun Posted October 31, 2017 Author Posted October 31, 2017 Yeah, am using the thrustmaster t16000m hotas stick and throttle set up, and it was a toss up between pedals and track ir. However, looking at ninjas on YouTube, I reckon being able to look about naturally probably trumps having to put up with stick-twist-rudder for now...

I've been thinking about buying wireless headset too, then my setup would be perfect.
F/JG300_Gruber Posted October 31, 2017 Posted October 31, 2017 Have fun with your purchase, TIR is definitely worth it once you spent a couple week getting used to it and having it tweaked comfortably for you. I think you made the right choice investing in it before the pedals.
Archie Posted October 31, 2017 Posted October 31, 2017 You could also look at the delan clip, it is much better than the standard clip.http://www.delanengineering.com/

Mine has come apart many times following a fall BUT, it has always gone back together no problems. That said, the Polish device looks really impressive and I suspect I'll end up ordering one.

Everything else follows on from that but get the profile right first. If you want my profile using the clip I'll email it to you, otherwise there are other ones out there to use. von Tom
