Setting the katuyshas to fire their rockets

Hi

 

I 'm trying to set a number of Katuyshas to continuously attack a designated area, regardless of the presence of targets. I tried various things and templates from other posts, but they don't fire at all.

The Katuyshas are at an elevated position and the area is around 600 meters ahead. Maybe this has to do with it?

 

Any help is appreciated

If all is in order to have them fire. Try raising the Attack Area MCU.

Set the attack area at at 1000m. The artillery have to have a line of sight to the area attack MCU.

I am just getting back into the sim after a year, however, this is one of my old setups for a bm13, whereas the Checkzone is placed at the intended area of attack... and triggered by a Vehicle entering into it... I also have it set up to re-spawn the bm13 if destroyed, 8 minutes wait (Timer) covers the 7.5 minutes it takes a destroyed model to "disappear"... but the important bit here for you, other than rockets are long range weapons, if I remember correctly, is making use of "Force Complete"... and yeah... I'm trying to remember all of the neato fiddly stuff I used to do... assimilate the updates and changes that occurred in my absence, and how it all goes together moving forward. I'll try to get those details understood, test this setup as is, and, if it works correctly still... maybe upload a Group as a downloadable example for you. ~S~!

The Russian rockets will fire all day long, the German rockets seem more temperamental.

Thanks for your input guys. Increasing the attack area and moving the checkzone seemed to do the trick. Still, the rockets are fired away from where I 'd like them to, but I hope to figure out a way to improve this.

A good Group to download is always helpful to mission builders. :salute:

You can try to increase the AI to "high" for the katyusha. it works rather well for me with a target area of 100m wide.

If you're only adding them for flavour as well you can set their ammo to unlimited so that they keep firing. I often do this with MGs on the front lines as it gives a nice visual of where that is when flying over it.
