New Stuff In Week 5 Update

Just wondering if anyone is noticing any new game tweaks in the latest version ... stuff like FM adjustments, new sounds ... stuff like that.

One big thing (other than the obvious additions): The damage of cannons and MG seems to have been markedly reduced compared to last week. It took all of my ammunition in the Bf 109 to bring down just 3 LaGGs tonight - and my shooting wasn't half bad.

 

Both planes seem to suck up a lot more damage, and especially structural damage (parts coming off, wings collapsing) seems to occur much less frequently now.

muddy textures, snow more detailed and snow banks. a little more dirty look than a fresh snow day

Well  I still fly right in the ground as I did last time ;)

 

But I flew and shot down 7 Laggs together with my wingman and still got ammo left. So I cannot see any difference in gun damage. A short burst made them vapor some cannonhits on the wing and it blew off. Small hits on engine and you got ablack smoke and vapor . then it just a matter of time until their engine stop

Well, to be fair, my assessment of the changes in DM was based on just 3 missions, 2 in LaGG, 1 in Bf 109. It might just have been a coincidence, and really nothing has changed.

 

I will have to try some more tomorrow and try to verify it.

Oh yeah, and the flags of course.

 

Make nice stand-ins for a proper wind sock.

 

Just a shame that Fritz has to contend with all those fluttering red banners.

I feel that the 109 has a little less power, just a little.  Anyone else?

New sound bug here.

When leaning outside Lagg cockpit with opened canopy, sound almost cut off...

Other new stuff i was afraid of:

Now, even novice AIs are shooting damn accurately.

Twice this morning (in 109 and then in Lagg), 10 seconds after they spawned, first AI burst --> holes in my canopy and broken aiming sight.

I didn't noticed the AI even fired! ... neither heard i was hitted...until i saw my damages.

Aren't they supposed to be novices btw?

I had an impression that I actually could get more speed in the *Lagg, And for the first time I could get to an 109 by turning inside it. I had absolutley no problems flying the 109 and take on the Laggs. But now I felt I stood a chance against the 109 in a lagg. I dunno maybe just me getting better in engine management

Well, when compared to last week,  I had much better frame rates tonight. Now, I am kind of sleep deprived, so don't read too much into this, but the LaGG-3 seemed like a real handful for me, tonight. I really had to concentrate to keep the ball centered in vertical maneuvers and hard turns, so as not to lose control of her. A couple of times, during abrupt maneuvers, she dropped a wing and I had to catch her with the rudder and stick, so she would not spin out on me. If I notice anything tomorrow, I will post it. :salute: MJ

Check that you haven't by accident brought a bomb on missions where you don't need it.
