SCG_motoadve Posted October 25, 2017 Posted October 25, 2017 Its single player, iweshould be able to do to have the freedom of doing what we want. Its very frustrating to play a mission ,get some kills , land and get a mission failed message. Or glide back to the airfield with a smoking plane, and make it , then mission failed. Ok maybe the mission failed, but you are alive and back in your lines so you can fly the next mission. Mission failed should be if you die or bail or crash land behind enemy lines. Why are they locked ? Is there a way to unlock them? 1
Jade_Monkey Posted October 25, 2017 Posted October 25, 2017 Overall, the campaign is locked to give a sense of progression. The next level is unlocked when you trigger a specific action in the mission, in my campaign it's landing safely. I'm planning on changing that for the Butcher campaign so the success is triggered earlier and people can move on faster through the missions. Unfortunately im dealing with an AI issue that is preventing them from taking off and i dont want to release the next version while the missions are still not working as intended.
Jade_Monkey Posted October 25, 2017 Posted October 25, 2017 Just to clarify, the user made scripted campaigns cannot be unlocked. There is only the option to allow users to see the other mission names/picture/briefing, but they cannot be played. That's hardcoded (afaik). The workaround would be to move the missions to the SP missions folder, and resave them with the FME changing the mission type from campaign to single.
Gambit21 Posted October 25, 2017 Posted October 25, 2017 The condition for my A-20!campaign will be landing back at base. I can activate the mission complete objective as soon as the mission starts - but I don't see the point.
Juri_JS Posted October 25, 2017 Posted October 25, 2017 Most campaign builders use a sucessfull landing as only condition, so if you don't want to completely refly a failed mission, you can just land back at your base directly after take off.
SYN_Haashashin Posted October 25, 2017 Posted October 25, 2017 In my campaigns all you need is to survive...you can even crash in your side of the front and next mission should unlock. Haash 1
LLv24_Zami Posted October 25, 2017 Posted October 25, 2017 In my campaigns all you need is to survive...you can even crash in your side of the front and next mission should unlock. Haash That is by far the wisest option.
SYN_Haashashin Posted October 25, 2017 Posted October 25, 2017 Maybe Zami, but Im encountering some people with problems in Fritz Life and I can bet something that is related to the mission logic allowing that option. Will see in the future how it workout. Haash
Gambit21 Posted October 25, 2017 Posted October 25, 2017 That is by far the wisest option. I'm having the same thought. Haash - can you elaborate on what you think the logic issue might be?
SYN_Haashashin Posted October 25, 2017 Posted October 25, 2017 Gambit, the logic is an "improvement" of SYN_Vander mission logic. Its complex but I think the problem may lay on the player events (On killed, Crashed, etc) I added that are used to trigger part of it. Hopefully Vander will take a look and help me out. Haash
Gambit21 Posted October 25, 2017 Posted October 25, 2017 Yeah - 'On Killed', "On Crashed" "On Damaged" logic is a bit unpredictable it seems.
yeikov Posted October 28, 2017 Posted October 28, 2017 If it helps, what I've obseved in the Albert's Life campaign (thanks for it!) is that if I crash-landed I would get the Mission Failed message and have to repeat. However, if I ejected the plane and survived I could progress, as far as I can remember. It's as if crash-landing keeps your plane in the mission, and if you exit you're just abandoning, while ejecting effectively terminates your role in it and triggers the success logic. Am I making sense?
FlyingH Posted October 28, 2017 Posted October 28, 2017 Just out of quriosity, what happens if you eject after a chrashlanding in Alberts Life or the Butcher campaign? Fail or progress?
yeikov Posted October 28, 2017 Posted October 28, 2017 I thought just the same once and tried, but I could not eject, not sure if it's possible once on the ground.
