Other aircraft sounds while in cockpit

Hello, I have a question that I don't know if it's a bug or not. When I I'm flying with a closed canopy I can't hear the sounds of other aircraft engines, even if I'm really close to them. However, I can hear their gun sounds from a considerable distance, with the canopy closed. Does this affect me or is it just the way the sound is modelled? I once asked online if one could hear the other aircraft engines in these conditions and someone said yes, hence my question.

You should not really be able to hear other aircraft with a closed canopy unless they are very close but neither should you hear aircraft gun sounds from very far. With the canopy open you hear more and also while on the ground.  If what you are are hearing is ground artillery firing or unexplained sounds of being hit then they are known bugs.  In one bug the background sounds from the menu screen can be heard while spawned on the ground and sometimes while flying.  In the other bug, sometimes when an aircraft is hit by ack everyone else in the server hears their plane being hit also :-)

Thank you for the answer! And yes, I'm aware of those bugs, happens to me sometimes. So, you don't hear the aircraft engines with the canopy closed? Just wanted to check if I should reinstall the game. Perhaps I didn't explain myself very well. I don't hear the gun fire from very large distances, but at, let's say, 50 meters or less, I hear cannons pretty loud. I just find it odd listening to enemy gun fire clearly loud when flying close to another aircraft and not feeling any "hum" of the engine, air vibrations, etc, I didn't really expect to hear it clearly, that would not be realistic at all I guess
