rephil Posted October 22, 2017 Posted October 22, 2017 I just purchased BOM and checked box for joy stick but when I start the aircraft just roll and dives in to the ground there is no response when I use stick and I cant find were to calibrate it and set input axis roll pitch rudder etc I use a Logitech X-56 Rhino stick and throttle with Thrustmaster T-Flight rudder pedals "Growing older is mandatory growing up optional"
THERION Posted October 22, 2017 Posted October 22, 2017 Hi rephil, I've got the Logitech X-55 Rhino stick and throttle, which is nearly the same as you have (just 1 year older) with the same functionality. My combo works flawless - I use it in BOS/BOM/BOK, Rise of Flight and DCS. Here is my checklist for you: 1. You need to install the Rhino Software and the drivers 2. Check the functionality of all axis and buttons with this software - the software allows you to program each and every button and even the axis as needed - you can create your own profiles as needed You don't need to program anything if you don't want, but check your combo. 3. If your combo works flawlessly then you can start BOM and configure your stick and throttle. 4. Some functions in BOM do allow the assignment of axis. The functions are to be configured under settings/key mapping. It's a kind of table or grid with all functions listed on your left and the first row is filled with the default key mapping (just leave it as is). On the second row you can attribute the buttons or axis you want/need. Here are some screen shots to help you understand what I described: Be sure you have selected the correct input device Here you can configure your own mapping / axis If you click on the axis icon, you will be able to check and fine tune your axis I hope this will help you to set up BOM so you can fully enjoy this wonderful sim. Cheerio
rephil Posted October 22, 2017 Author Posted October 22, 2017 (edited) Thanks for this will have at it was hoping it was a bit more plug and play Heck I still have a dial phone on my desk me and computers don't get along can the game run in non VR would be easier to set bindings on the monitor then go back into VR after. The explanation and screen shots is just what this old dog needs. thanks "GROWING OLDER IS MANDATORY GROWING UP IS OPTIONAL" Edited October 22, 2017 by rephil
rephil Posted October 22, 2017 Author Posted October 22, 2017 hate to be a pest but, I did as you said except in the pitch up down calibration. It shows up as stick back and stick forward for down but in game play its reversed ans inverting axis makes no differance
THERION Posted October 22, 2017 Posted October 22, 2017 Your welcome. Of course, your hotas is actually plug and play, but the device manager under Windows isn't much of help. If you install the Rino Software, you will see this will help you a lot. It's a powerful tool, but you actually don't need to program anything especially concerning BOM as you don't need different layers of controls for this sim. It's of course something completely different, if you want to control a modern jet fighter with all the computed aids as radar, counter-measures etc. Just assign the given functions of the sim to the buttons/switches/axis you think will suite your needs. Try to arrange these functions in a logic way - you don't have time to guess where you assigned functions in a fierce dogfight. And if you need assistance, you're welcome. Cheerio
THERION Posted October 22, 2017 Posted October 22, 2017 Oh sorry for that - I forgot to mention you can actually reverse your axis if needed - it happened to me too. Have a look at me second scrennie: You can see my first axis which is reversed indeed - you can see a little white icon with a reversed arrow. Just one click and you're done. Sorry mate. Cheers
rephil Posted October 22, 2017 Author Posted October 22, 2017 I saw that but it does not matter were I have it set for pitch invert checked or unchecked it will always go up when I want down and down when I want up will redo all may be its something I've done and cant find
rephil Posted October 22, 2017 Author Posted October 22, 2017 OK got it finally all axis are working now I need to get the VR to quit crashing must be more use more resources than X-Plane or DCS vr never crashes in those
rephil Posted October 22, 2017 Author Posted October 22, 2017 OK this can close after change screen resolution all is good now to get a victory instead of a statistic Thanks again
