D3adCZE Posted October 18, 2017 Posted October 18, 2017 Hello, I'd like ask you, fellow pilots, how to deal with a Yak-1b? That plane has incredible energy retention in turns, zoom climbs and dives, it is incredibly maneuverable, light and has insane acceleration as well. What can I do against it? I can energy trap La5, Yak-1, Lagg and MiG. But I cannot do anything against this thing, if it gets behind me below 3km. My biggest problem with this plane is on Berloga, where it seems to stick with you in 750kph shallow dives and shallow climbs after it. I do not have such problem on WoL. Could you tell me, what could I do please? Thanks.
19//Moach Posted October 18, 2017 Posted October 18, 2017 It does not suffer speeds above 700km/h very gladly. Some parts of the wings and tail seem to have a lower speed limit than others. So there they stay, and let their faster fellows continue accelerating without them. It also has fairly little ammo capacity and is lightly built. Ideally, you wanna shoot it down first, and let him know he's being engaged after.

GridiroN Posted October 18, 2017 Posted October 18, 2017 (edited) You don't. G2 is pretty strictly boom and zoom. It's heavy, slower, and has worse aerodynamics than the F4. The Yak-1B almost as fast as the F4 below 4K, has very good energy retention, and is one of the most aerodynamically designed aircrafts of it's day. Trying to dance with it wouldn't be a great idea. The G2's strength is it's really fast at altitude, and it dives like a banshee (faster than the F4). I'd recommend using those 2 aspects to your advantage. Even when engaged by F4s, when I'm in my 1B, I feel very confident when German planes try to dance me. Edited October 18, 2017 by GridiroN
1PL-Husar-1Esk Posted October 19, 2017 Posted October 19, 2017 Do the same as you do in WOL. BTW Some guys before FM changes could outmaneuver yaks (in Berloga) ,how they do now, I don't know. You should recognize them on scoreboard and ask ,then share with us
