Simicro Posted October 17, 2017 Posted October 17, 2017 Hi, I want to create a simple and single player mission: - place an aircraft of my choice on an existing airfield - set the weather and time ... and fly it offline! I started to read "IL-2 Sturmovik Mission Editor and Multiplayer Server Manual" p. 33 but I'm having some difficulty right at the start. So in BOSEditor: 1) File New 2) Missions properties: Mission Type = Single 3) Make sure that map selected in "GUI Map" matches the terrain selected in "Terrain Presets" = kuban-summer 4) Save ...\data\Missions\Test\ In the View Port, I scroll the map but cannot find airfields... Is there any trick to center the map quickly on an existing airfield?
TP_Silk Posted October 17, 2017 Posted October 17, 2017 (edited) You will also need to put a player aircraft on the map. This won't show you any airfields, but without it you won't have an aircraft to spawn into. What you will need to do is place the aircraft on the map, select whether you want it to start in the air, on the runway or on parking in the properties and also set the aircraft to Player using the drop-down box that also contains Normal, Low, High and Ace.If you choose an air start make sure that you set the aircraft at an altitude and aircraft speed that will let you gain control of it once the game starts. Simicro Posted October 17, 2017 Author Posted October 17, 2017 Yes thank you, I know that, but at this time I need to find an airfield first.
TP_Silk Posted October 17, 2017 Posted October 17, 2017 Are you trying to find the airfield in the editor or the game?
JimTM Posted October 17, 2017 Posted October 17, 2017 ... In the View Port, I scroll the map but cannot find airfields... Is there any trick to center the map quickly on an existing airfield? Turn on the GUI map (see pg. 196 re. Toolbar button). The gui map shows the airfield locations. I'll add that tip to the singleplayer and multiplayer mission topics. Thanks!
Simicro Posted October 20, 2017 Author Posted October 20, 2017 Hi TP_Silk, JimTM, I'm sorry for the late answer. Many thanks to both you for getting me started. I could manage to create the mission.
