Jade_Monkey Posted October 16, 2017 Posted October 16, 2017 I was creating a mission involving ship convoys and the only way to make them move was by creating individual waypoints for each ship instead of one for the group leader. If you link them all to the leader and create a waypoint for the leader, they won't move (leader included). In the case of torpedo boats the leader will stay still and the rest will zoom around the leader like mosquitoes. Is ungrouping them and treating them as individual entities the only solution? Is there any way to make them behave as a group and maintain a formation?
sniperton Posted October 16, 2017 Posted October 16, 2017 Not and answer to your question, but in your place I'd first ask the devs what to expect, i.e. when and what type of ship formation AI is planned to be implemented (before Kuban release / with Kuban release / after Kuban release). I guess ship tech is still WIP, and maybe it doesn't work now as it should after some days/weeks/months of code development.
Jade_Monkey Posted October 16, 2017 Author Posted October 16, 2017 Unfortunately they don't usually answer this type of questions, at least in my experience.
coconut Posted October 16, 2017 Posted October 16, 2017 I just tried today, in a sp mission. Worked fine.
[DBS]Tx_Tip Posted October 16, 2017 Posted October 16, 2017 I just tried today, in a sp mission. Worked fine. Yep same here. Try the different Formations. "User Made Off-Road" and the Convoy formed echelon left.
Gambit21 Posted October 19, 2017 Posted October 19, 2017 Ships seem to be sensitive to waypoints that are positioned too far away - causing them to not move. Anyone else noticed this? You can't just place a way point on the far side of the map. 1
Jade_Monkey Posted October 19, 2017 Author Posted October 19, 2017 Good one, im going to try that. I almost gave up on that.

You can't just place a way point on the far side of the map. Nailed it! It works if you put a waypoint closer. This is definitely a bug. It's tricky in Kuban because the map is very large but it's hard to tell in the editor how far things are compared to Stalingrad or other maps. 1
Gambit21 Posted October 20, 2017 Posted October 20, 2017 I'll report immediately, thanks for confirming. 1
