They are not of good quality, the throttle you mention is prone to malfunction very soon. I think if you are on a budget trustmaster is a better solution. If you go for several 100$ hardware we talk better quality.

But have you considered

My X-55 throttle hasn't given me any issues other than the usual "needs to be on a powered USB hub all by itself to avoid ghost button presses" issue. Admittedly that's an annoying one, but it's easy to solve at least. Mine is around 2-3 years old now. As for buying them, I'm not aware of them being sold individually, they come as a stick + throttle pair.

My X55 throttle was good for about a year. Right now one of the two throttle axes doesn't work in game, and the switches and rotaries are kind of cheap. The have a lot of "give", they feel loose, and the switches often get stuck instead of returning to the middle position.

Im looking forward to upgrading to the recently announced Virpil throttle.

You can use together but need leave the X-52 throttle plugged, because X-52 joy is 'brainless", depends on X-52 throttle circuit.

X-55/56 throttle work standalone - but is not sold standalone, search used in eBay, etc.

BTW - For most situations dual throttle has almost no use, you will use then like a single throttle.

I still use my X52 throttle. I upgraded to the VKB sim Gladiator MkII stick. Nearly all things made after the X52 are much lower on quality (as MadCatz took over production of saitek stuff after the X52 run) than any later saitek models.

The Thrustmaster FCS throttle is a really good unit, can definitely recommend it. I got it in a set with the stick and rudder pedals as well and they're all quite solid, but while I'm considering upgrading the stick to the Warthog, I'd be happy to hang on to the throttle for the time being.

It's a good one that might be worth a look at.

I have had 0 issues with my X-55 throttle in two years of heavy use and I love it, but the stick itself will give up the ghost in relatively near future and feels just... bad. I consider switching to a new stick and keeping the throttle unit.

Speaks of quality control issues, so I'd say skip. THE BUTTONS are great for Elite or something, but a functioning stick and throttle are better.

Anyone having relatively loose hats in the stick? Mine (X55) wiggle a lot. The buttons are solid though.

Also, the switches on the throttle are a bit loose but at the same time they get stuck in a up or down position.

It's served me well but it's time to upgrade for this guy.
