by Ned Stark's Ghost!!   that looks amazing!!

a month of surprises indeed! well delivered!

if bombers and ships can be spotted at half that much extra distance, this will be a whole new game!

I doff my crudely photoshopped pilot's helmet to you!   this is quite a treat!

Will this graphics change make any difference in the clarty &/0r definition of objects in the middle to far distance for those of us with Rift VR?

It is prudent to always under promise and over deliver. :)

WOW!!!!

Nothing else to say.

Ok so rendering planes further out is a definate "not promising anything" at this point.... But all I could think in those shots from the Kuban map was "will I be able to see ships and wake from further out now?"

Regardless, those shots are beautiful. Thank you team for all your work and for sharing your progress yet again. Every time you manage to impress, and sometimes you blow expectations right out of the water. The new renders you've posted definitely fall into the latter category.

Thank you very much, dev team. It's an incredible work you are doing! And we can feel the passion you have

in common with us enthusiasts - Thank you for your perseverance, you guys are great!

It looks really beautiful and - yes - I do not doubt your tech will be the next master level of all flight sims.

Cheers

+1 on the incredible work being done by the dev team.  The extended view range will make life much easier with regards to navigation.  Not to mention the other goodies we will be getting when the update rolls round.

What fascinates me is that Jason did not have time to publish DD175 because he had to leave the office because next morning his plane heads to the US again  (https://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/17455-dd-today/?p=520925 ).

He posted it in the late Moscow evening hours and an hour later Han posted the new DD. And Jason is still around to answer questions. From his Moscow appartment or hotel I suppose.

So it must be after midnight right now in Moscow.

It is a small team, we all know that, but it brings everything back to human proportions.

In one word: dedication.

So I can see airfields from much more distance now, except for buildings on it, I'm right? It's good step forward, look for obvious next one :)

Agree completely.  The work ethic of these guys has always been one of the outstanding features of this series.

W - T - F ... this is a view I knew from CloD, but with much more details and better impression of geography. Land and sea spread out now. Can't wait to see it in flight. NOW going up high and line up for the target is much more an option - horizontal bombers delight. Thanks. :fly:

Can you say what the impact on performance is, and if it might be possible to turn down the rendering distance if some PCs cant handle it?

Posted

This is truly some of the best news I’ve heard since the FM changes! I can’t wait to see this is action.

Anyway we could get a short video, possibly even a comparison between how it is currently versus with the new rendering?

Didn't even notice!

This team always underpromises and overdelivers! Very wise way to operate.

No this does not affect grass.

Jason

We have not tested this in combat yet. We do not know it's effects other than it's new beauty. See my earlier answer.

Jason

Fulfilling this longtime request in such a great way gives me great hope that the multiplayer server program may become multithreaded one day! Salute.
