The career mode coming this December will only have planes available to squadrons that actually had them and only in the historically correct timeframes, so likely no P-40 for Moscow but it will be at Stalingrad and at least some of the Kuban battle.

I don't know what the best solution is, but it may anger people if they buy the premium edition of the game only to find out they cant fly those special planes in the career mode. Ok, thanks. I'll buy it for BOS since that's all I have now. I was thinking about getting BOM, but maybe i'll wait a bit and see if it's in the new career mode first. I like to stick to one plane all the time, but only if it's historically correct. I know the P-40 isn't the best plane, but it's an American plane and that puts it at the top of my list.

All that's left is BOK, but I have a lot of flying to do in BOM and BOS before moving on to BOK. I guess we download all the content when we do the first install. As soon as I paid for BOM and the planes it showed up with no download. I wondered why the initial install was so big. Edited October 10, 2017 by BuzzU

I am pretty sure that P-40 will be in Battle of Moscow campaign. They fought there since 25 October 1941, unit was 126th IAP (126th Fighter Regiment). This unit was flying on P-40C and we have P-40D/E, but I'm sure that developers will bend history little bit and include this airplane in BoM campaign. And it will be also included in BoS and BoK campaign for sure. Not sure about Fw 190 in BoS, this will be very interesting.

Also, we'll have to include Macchi in BOM but you won't see these plane as AI units in the sky, they will be available only for player. So, if you want to play in the historically credible campaigns - just don't choose not historical aircraft for this period. 4

And yes, you already had all the content installed. What you bought was access to fly those planes, as well as single-player access to the BOM maps and the BOM campaign.
BuzzU Posted October 10, 2017 Author Posted October 10, 2017 I tried everything. I started the BOM campaign with the P-40. Nice plane. Kind of sluggish, but i'll get used to it. I also tried the Yak-1b and what a nice plane. The rear view is unbelievable. It's almost like cheating to fly it. It reminds me of the Yak-3 in the original IL2. I'll stick with the P-40. More challenge, but she's a good solid plane. Thanks, guys.
