Danziger Posted October 9, 2017 Posted October 9, 2017 Hi guys, I got a new laptop and wanted to get RoF on it. However the download from the official site takes all day before stopping at 90 something percent and refusing to finish. Is there another way of getting it downloaded?

You can try D/L'ing from the alternate copy link I made available for folks having problems with the official servers - see this page: https://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/82595-useful-materials-for-rise-of-flight/ Edited March 28, 2023 by TG-55Panthercules 1

Hmm - I'll check it out and see if I can figure out what's going on. [EDIT] - did that error message come up after you unzipped the file from my link and installed the game successfully? It may just mean that you need to do an update from the game's launcher - have you done that yet? Edited October 14, 2017 by TG-55Panthercules 1
TG-55Panthercules Posted October 14, 2017 Posted October 14, 2017 Excellent - enjoy RoF! It's still my favorite, though since getting my Rift earlier this summer it's proving harder and harder to tear myself away from BoS and get back to RoF these days. 1
Danziger Posted October 22, 2017 Author Posted October 22, 2017 It's been a long time since I played RoF very much since getting into BoX. It kind of gives me two feelings. One like it is still a seriously great game. The second that RoF could be even better when it gets integrated into the BoX upgraded engine. I really forgot how much I like to fly these early birds. The rofmods site doesn't seem to work anymore. Is there another way of getting the mods? 1
Danziger Posted October 22, 2017 Author Posted October 22, 2017 Ive been trying to install the new landscape textures mod. Have mods on enabled. Installed with jsgme and manually and niether works. What is the path this needs to be installed into?

Danziger Posted October 23, 2017 Author Posted October 23, 2017 https://riseofflight.com/forum/topic/38444-new-landscape-textures/ This one. Which is the best recommended?

The latest version of that mod can be found here (tested for RoF version 1.037): http://www.mediafire.com/file/ax2ihvfxa7wmy23/Fubar_Landscape_Mod_for_1.037_for_JSGME.zip You should be able to unzip that into your MODS folder and use JSGME to install it, but you can also just look inside the package and that will tell you the relevant path(s) where the mod's files should be located. I like Fubar's mod and can certainly recommend it as a good, one-source package (I'm actually running a modified combination of versions from AnKor85 and Feathered that I like somewhat better, but the differences are minor and largely down to personal taste). 1
