I know there were similar problems when Early Access was first released. DO I need to disable my antivirus or something cause it just keeps removing it?

I have mcafee and didn't have to disable it. However I don't think you will be able to do anything until the early hours Sat morning (Aust) time as the server won't be on line until then. The last couple of weeks it has been midnight Friday till midnight Monday Moscow time.

Why wasn't it working, but it's ok now. Everything has downloaded fine and all I need to do now is get updates and then play on Saturday

Some of these antivirus and net security utilities are a bit overzealous. If you get issues in the future, do like you said and disable them while installing, it's not a problem unless you're browsing "funny sites" while installing

So this morning I thought I would download and install the launcher on my newly built system, and then try to install BOS to see if it would grab the whole game and install so I would be ready for when the update was released.

 

It appeared to have installed ok, but got caught in an endless loop of downloading an update. It would download the update, a small black screen would flash on and off, then it would download update again, rinse and repeat over and over.

Did not get a message about cannot access server or anything like that, just an endless loop of appearing to download an update over and over.

 

I just canceled out of that screen, hope everything will be ok with my new install when the update does become available tomorrow...

I put this in another thread in the bugs section I think. There is a problem for people downloading if they have Nortons. It's easily overcome, go into your quarantine section and the download will be kept in there, simply click on it and you can allow Nortons to ignore it.

Welcome to the forums!!

 

Click on the BOS homepage - just click on the IL-2 Logo at the top of this site.

Log in to your account.

Go to your profile page.

Click on the download tab.

There you will see a link to download the installer.

 

This is just the installer package, app 300+mb. When installed it will download BOS and install it for you -  but you will not be able to access until they turn those servers on.

 

Hope this helps, let us know how you make out.

Some antivirus software looks suspicious at any .exe file it didn't see before. That's why the warnings. I got it too, back when I installed it first.

 

It was just the warning: "this is not known file, it could harm your computer. What do you want to do?" and you click "run it anyway".

 

The antivirus doesn't know what the file is, we do. We know it's safe.

I'd echo comments about antivirus programmes throwing up false positives. They are very unfond if any exe, it seems. The download is safe.

I run Norton 360. It didn't put the file in quarantine immediately for me. It just told me it may be harmful and asked what I want to do. Just tell it to run anyway. If Norton put the file in quarantine already, follow the instructions above.

As another Silver   Chrome  Pimpin' Platinum member I am grateful for this incredible alpha build. Or basically, I set to expert realism, tried lagg, crashed and cried tears of joy, because that seems to be the way to go for all good sims for me. This is a good sign. I did take off easily in the BF109, but that is just good german engineering for you.
