How is performance compared to PS?

Think I´ll get HLL anyways - just interested.

Results may vary, is the conclusion I find from the steam reviews.

Performance in HLL is good. It is very beautiful and runs well. So Performance and Looks are good.

Physics and Mechanics are 95% OK, the Rest can be a bit snaggy in Places.

I have a GTX 1060, 16gb of ram... I have the game maxed out on all settings and it seems to be running fine.

As to steam reviews, take them with a pinch of salt mate, you know the forums over there are just toxic most of the time.

The game had been out for 1 day and there are tossers over there doing everything they can to bring the game down.

Performance wise it seems much better than post scriptum imo but I haven't had much time in it yet.

Played for an hour yesterday and yes, it seems performance is better in HLL.

Right... played for an hour and a half tonight. I had zero problems or dramas of any kind.

I have the game on max settings, no stutters, no crashes.

Despite some people whinging about problems with in game comms, for me they worked absolutely fine.

I came into the game as an infantryman. When I spawned no one was communicating.

I started passing information to the squad lead... within 2 mins, all the guys chirped up and everyone was contributing.

I stayed in the same squad all the time and the game play was excellent. Explosions and effects were pretty awesome.

It was hectic, full on action... getting cut off, asking for help, people came... got wounded, medics patched me up and saved my backside (many times).

At one stage, the whole section was caught out and we were being flanked on both sides, nowhere to run, just fight it out and try not to get hit.

We must have been there for over 5 mins before a tank showed up and saved our backsides... tense, frantic, brilliant stuff!

All I can say is, get the game... for an early access title it is proving to be a winner in my humble little opinion.

Having an absolute blast in it. For me, thus far at least, its far more enjoyable, stable, and optimized than PS ever was or currently is.

If your looking to fix the AA issues so its not a pixel hunt like it is in Squad and PS, paste System Settings cfg into Engine.ini file found in C:\Users<USER NAME>\AppData\Local\HLL\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor

Only thing I don't like about HLL is the tanks. The views and inability to turn out bugs me. Also the damage model is rather annoying.

I was mainly hyped for the howitzer/support functions. I learned the other day on steam that the maps are 2km x 1.2km. I think mortars would be more appropriate. But I am still looking forward to sending shells. Someone was saying they felt the howitzer rounds were nerfed, as in much less effective than they would have been in real life. 1 more reason to switch to mortars instead I think... but then again I'm not project manager for the game...

They'll add those. The armor will feature upgrades that a player can apply like cupola mounted MG positions (for both sides), so they have to nail down the anims for turning out before doing so. The damage model reminds me of this re-the response. Same thing.

Nice. I hope they also add realistic view positions, especially in the Sherman, currently the little commander sight you get is pretty aggravating to use. I'd like to have the actual commander hatch viewports be modeled so I can turn my head and get a better view of my surroundings.

WarThunder kinda spoiled me when it comes to tank damage models. Even though they have inaccuracies it's still one of the best tank sims/games damage model wise. I've been looking for a 1st person tank game/sim with a damage model on par with WarThunder, haven't found one yet but I'm hoping Il2 with get there with TankCrew.

WT is overtly simplistic when it comes to damage modeling, ballistics, and kinetic weapon systems. The only real tank sims on the market are Steel Beasts and the super old Steel Fury.

It may be overly simplistic but it's still one of the best representations out there, no other modern game comes close to WarThunder tanks currently imo HLL and PS certainly don't.

I say give HLL a try... even in this early state, I'd say that graphics wise it's ahead of PS.

Every house you go into in HLL looks like the occupants have dropped everything and just left... In PS all the houses are completely vacant of any sign of a human presence, they are totally bare.

The day before yesterday someone posted a comparison between PS and HLL and also mentioned is the difference between abandonded houses.

The comparison is mainly about details, graphics and weapon sounds. Both games have their pros and cons according the poster.

I don't know anything about its gameplay but graphics wise both look very good to me. I could not make a choice.

You have to own and play both games... then you will be able to see what I meant.

Yes, they are both good games, but for me, HLL is the one I'm preferring at the moment.

Yes mate... I saw that advice on the forums yesterday and made the adjustment.

The Dev's replied that they would put that into a patch shortly.

Warthunder is arcade as most of the external sec's are hitpoint based. There are several consumer products out there that are actual tank sims, IL-2 Tank Crew not included. Many of which spent 3-5 years of the development process on damage modeling alone before anything else began. Which means they wrote external programs just to model the ballistic histograms needed for AFV sims.

If you're looking for a no s@#t real, actual tank simulator, then be prepared to pay a sum of money for Steel Beasts PE. The Personal Edition is the military license for the civilian version (think VBS3) of this sim that's currently in use by the UK, French, German, Dutch, Danish, US and a whole slew of other NATO members for armored vehicle training. Now, if you want a hardcore and accurate tank sim without breaking the bank, check out Blaze of War on Steam. The War College, the Royal College of Defence Studies, and many others hailed it as the most realistic consumer based armored fighting vehicle simulator ever created.

I really wish 1C/777 had partnered with Graviteam for Tank Crew as opposed to this unknown studio that has absolutely no background in sim production, let alone anything even remotely related the AFV's.

Re: Training only.. A little off topic I know, but... Heard of: Titanim? Link below.

Link: http://titanim.net/www/index.php/page

Above link: Not available currently to home users for entertainment purposes.

BTW: I really have know idea how accurate software like this actually is.. Must save a fortune in ammo, etc, etc..??

As far as I know, Titanim also uses the Outerra Engine. Outerra is available to the home user.

Re: Hell Get Loose, can't comment on this one yet, tend to shy away from kickstarters more so these days, once bitten, twice shy.

Exception would be engine based only, as good communities granted the freedom of mods can make it more worth everyone's while.

I have access to TitanIM as well as VBS3/4.2. Neither of which simulate armored warfare. They're battalion/brigade/division combined-arms maneuver warfare sims, so focusing on the highly complex nature of armored vehicle warfare just isn't their thing, yet. TitanIM is moving that way, though they're years away given the complexity of simulating ballistics and frag of modern vehicles.
