Black-Witch Posted October 3, 2017 Posted October 3, 2017 Hi, I've only been flying on BoS/M/K for about 2 weeks, after coming here from DCS, and I'm really enjoying it but I'd like to know if I've missed some "settings" to use, maybe posted in the forums, for using VR as I'm finding a couple of "issues" with using VR in BoS. 1, The "banging" noise when I move my head about inside the cockpit, I'm guessing this noise is me touching parts of the cockpit with my head, I don't need these noises, they are similar to being hit by enemy guns so therefore very distracting! can they be turned off? I know when I've reached the limit of my head travel because I can't go past the "stops". Also if I continue to move my head sideways or forwards the whole plane goes with my head movement, very strange. It would be better if my head just stopped moving after geting to the limits of the cockpit. 2, Restricted forward movement, Can the head position be allowed to go further forward, in DCS it was useful to be able to lean forward to the gun-sight, which is one of the reasons there's a pad on the back of most of them, not just for a better view of the target ahead of you but also to look forward and up better. I can't get my head closer than about 30cm to the gun-sight. Overall the VR is done much better than in DCS, regarding frame rates, quality of images and smoothness. Cheers in advance. Black-Witch
SCG_Fenris_Wolf Posted October 3, 2017 Posted October 3, 2017 I put my signature beneath these two requests. Both are currently not in-game yet.
A_radek Posted October 3, 2017 Posted October 3, 2017 Welcom Black-WitchBoth those issues have been hot topics here. They actually lowered the head bang noise volume considerably already and stated the movement is as free as they could possibly make it. So for now we can't do much about them.
dburne Posted October 3, 2017 Posted October 3, 2017 Limited head movement is in Expert realism setting. You can fly in Normal or Custom realism setting to not have this head movement limitation. Note: the stock campaign you can not chose Custom realism, only Normal or Expert.
katdog5 Posted October 3, 2017 Posted October 3, 2017 I like the idea. Really gives you a compact feel. But... Anyone else get a sound error? Playing Ivans War it perhaps glitched and it changed to definite gunfire sounds hitting the fuselage. (I was landing alone back at base safely at the time) mission complete odd Also happened 10 tens in autumn if I recall correctly. flying back no one around obvious glitch. I just tried to ignore it
dburne Posted October 3, 2017 Posted October 3, 2017 I tried it once and just did not like it at all. I much prefer to fly with that disabled.
OrLoK Posted October 3, 2017 Posted October 3, 2017 I play on normal to avoid head clunk but with CEM turned on so i get the best of both worlds.
[CPT]CptJackSparrow Posted October 3, 2017 Posted October 3, 2017 Isn't the pad for lessening forward impact injuries?
Black-Witch Posted October 3, 2017 Author Posted October 3, 2017 Isn't the pad for lessening forward impact injuries? Yes, I did say "one of the reasons" Black-Witch

I just tried to ignore it I had a sound issue for the first time yesterday. Was getting ready to fly a PWCG mission and the music kept playing. Another one the sound of the ambient gunfire kept playing as well.
