Thanks for comments and up-votes:

By the end of the detailed work involved in making something like this one can lose track of whether it is actually entertaining.  So the premiere is nerve wracking and early reassurance much appreciated!

Thank you -  it was while watching some of your films that I first thought that comedy and CFS were not necessarily incompatible!

Glad that you watched - I thought you would like it that Klebb had an appearance, even if she did get vaporized.  Completely accidental I might add - that happened during my first take of that scene, much to my surprise, when I had no idea how that fight would work out, except that 007 would win it of course. When I played back the track I could see a huge explosion and most of her plane just disappears: not sure if it is a bug or by design, but worked out well for the film.

Best Bond in years. :)

And the Hispano 20mm so much better than a Beretta 418.  ;)

I always wondered why Bond carried such a ladies gun: The Beretta 418 is chambered for .25 ACP. Hardly something you want to pull out if jaws pays a visit...

A very common weapon used by assassins is a .22 pistol. Easy to silence. The bullet is small and deforms easily making ballistic matching very difficult. If it didn't work they wouldn't use it.

For sure. In fact I used to do pistol target shooting with a .22 and I would not want to get shot by one. But still, if a berserker is attacking you and you are forced to shoot center mass, I for sure would prefer to do that with something heftier than a .22 LR. Anyway, I don't think we are in disagreement so let's not derail unreasonables video thread with guntalk. ;)

No problem - if it keeps it on the front page of  View New Content maybe a few people will notice who would otherwise miss it.  Not that I benefit from views directly - still nice to know if people like your work.

In the books 007 changes up from a Beretta to a Walther PPK for precisely the reason you mention.

Yes... Ian Fleming knew his spy thing. Well, he had a friend for info on „gun issues“. Also the Beretta 70 series was popular in .22lr.

unreasonable, I suppose you don‘t like the movies featuring Daniel Craig...?

I have a lot of time for Daniel Craig as an actor - but he is just not my idea of James Bond, although I have got used to him. His look is more Infantry Sergeant than Royal Naval Commander: it is not a bad look, but I have to admit that Sean Connery was my favourite Bond - and From Russia with Love my favourite  Bond movie: Thunderball a close second. The more modern ones have much worse scripts IMHO, too much tiressome mental anguish.  It is indicative that the funniest Bond meme of recent years is not even from the films at all:

I guess I have a similar view on that series. But I think I favor the first movies for the wrong reasons. Bond was always riding the Zeitgeist. It is probably also the main reason of the continued success of the series. Watching „From Russia with Love“ featuring all this sexism and bigottry presented in such a slick manner, I see it probably very different from how the audience did back then. What was normal back then gives has a very funny charm today. If you are suceptible to such.

Daniel Craig comes across rather distingué compared to the Hooligan of the Zeitgeist, Kiefer Sutherland aka Jack Bauer...
