Hi Pat - me again

In this campaign I have decided to fly without navigational icons

Using dead reckoning and the map - absolutely loving it

Really starting to get a feel for the map, local landmarks etc...

But - it is still summer in Stalingrad - which simplifies my task immensely

I can imagine it being somewhat problematic in poor weather/low light conditions

And I don't even want to think about what it's going to be like when the whole map is covered in snow  :biggrin:

Thought I would play with the RPK10

Noticed that a beacon is not added to my airfield by default

But no worries - a few forum searches later and I now know how to add a beacon to my home airfield using the ME

Only takes me a minute - is really not a big issue

But was just wondering

Is this something you may have planned for the future?

Or is adding a beacon to your generated missions a non trivial problem?

It sure would be a nice feature

But like I said - if I have to add it in myself in the ME it is really no big deal  :salute:

Just wondering

The beacon should be there.  Maybe something wrong with how I set it up.

Request: can you post a mission with a properly configured beacon?

To clarify

Do you mean a mission where I have added the beacon in myself using the mission editor??

Yes.  I want to see the difference between your mission that works and mine that apparently does not.

I have ended up doing two

Started a new career, generated a new mission, loaded it, could not detect a functioning radio beacon

Edited it in the ME to add a radio beacon

Nb. for some reason after I resave the mission I seem to end up with a bunch of extra localisation files

I am doing something wrong here

The mission "before" has one vehicle "ndb" set as:

  Name = "Radio Beacon";
  BeaconChannel = 1;

The mission "after" has two "ndb" vehicles, set as

  Name = "Radio Beacon";
  BeaconChannel = 1;

But all other vehicles in mission "after" (locomotive, artillery ml20...) has this beacon reference.

  BeaconChannel = 0;

In the mission "before" not.
