Randomly started googling for aircraft radio chatter, initially looking for German but found this:

I'm not sure if it's authentic, but damn if it isn't interesting.

You guys have any other examples of WWII aviation radio chatter?

Edit: As I continue googling, this clip is basically the only thing I can find, it's pretty widespread.

It always amazes me that most of these lads would have been no more than 19-21 years of age. Such responsibility on such young shoulders.

In the 18th century, you could be the captain of a ship at an age below 18.

One had to grow up significantly faster than today, where once you‘re old enough to resposibly do your job you become unemployable because of old age. ;)

As far as I know that's the only radio/intercom chatter from WWII that is out there.  I've been building up a sound bank of voices and coms chatter for years and this is the only authentic one that I have found.

You will find some interesting stuff from the Vietnam era however which has found its way onto youtube.  There are a number from Huey pilots making runs on target.  Plus another longer, combined recording of several units as they converge on an area and desperately try to locate and pick up a downed airman.  Some F4 pilots are also recorded as well, and all make for interesting (and rather sobering) listening.

As an example, here's one which covers the events following the loss of a Phantom over North Vietnam.

This one is from Huey pilots.  I believe Pigpen is Mark Garrison who wrote Guts n Gunships.  He mentions this particular sortie in his book and said that he did not expect to survive it at the time.

Are you sure?

Have you checked the BBC archive?

I have listened on quite many authentic radio chatter from WW 2 guided there by a link. I will see if I can find it

They do not know better, this is why young people fight wars. Older ones start to think

The older ones start to think that it is better if younger die and act acordingly.
