Thinking of replacing my old CH.

Is this one any good?

If your main "business" is jet's - the best option.

CONS:

Their "slew control" - equivalent of CH Throttle mini-stick is hated by most users, considered imprecise in use.

The ON-OF, ON-OFF-ON latch switches is not practical in games with controls options only for "press once for ON, press again for OFF" like BoS - exception for flapes control.

You can deal with this using TARGET keypress emulation, but still the out of synch issue  (e.g. switch OFF, landing gear down instead up or vice versa) if don't do a careful check-list before hit fly  - only DCS controls deal with this synch issue at some degree, and happens only with this throttle because is the only model with ON-OF, ON-OFF-ON latch switches.

Is somewhat problematic with USB port current, see the list of "bricked" units there: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=66542&page=9

I use the Warthog Stick and Throttle and it works fine in IL2 BOS. I have none of the problems Soko was talking about.

TM Warthog is leaps and bounds better then CH............... I had those (Pro Throttle, Fighter Stick, and Pro Pedals) for about 10 years with no problems.  The Warthog feels 100% better, I use TARGET software to program the HOTAS, I even have the stick working with lock tail wheel like it was a FW-190 all the time... You can get it at Dell the cheapest, I got mine for 339.00, but it's up to 399 now.............

That's a good deal, but they've been out of stock for awhile now.

He was asking about the throttle, not stick and gimbal ;)

That said, I must admit the Logitech x55 / x56 throttle is better. Better software, better switches (center position), and no more quality problems like they had them with Saitek's old iterations. Logitech introduced new internal cable trees, no ghosting, no spiking, no failing buttons (middle-finger to Saitek's grave). Adjustable friction, from hard to very light. You also have proper potentiometers, and a fully analogue thumbstick that actually works. A mousewheel on the left hand side. Software that is very powerful and can do Macros, including fully adjustable timings. With a single button press, I take flaregun, fire it, put it away again. I am convinced: Best available throttle currently on the market. Boom. I said it.

On the looks - it's a matter of taste - I play in VR. You can turn the throttle's lights off.

So you can buy the Logitech X56 Hotas, take the throttle, and throw the stick away. For the latter, keep your Warthog, VPC, or VKB Gladiator Pro.

P.S. Make sure it is the Logitech one, no old Saitek batch!! End of year, VPC plans to release their throttle. Given their history on deadlines, I believe this might have some issues with the first batches, as well as delays, so I wouldn't hold the horses for this one.

Looks good for flying a spaceship.

True, it is not for cockpit builders.

I am playing in VR. It means I don't see the throttle, and I need a powerful software, many buttons and the 4 rotaries +1 analogue stick with haptic feedback. No other throttle offers this at the medium price range.

Its great. Only bad thing is the slew button which really sucks, but you dont need that in BoX, you need that in DCS in modules which have targeting pod like A-10C. My throttle died week ago but happily i have warranty left and seller told me they wont bother sending it to TM for fixing and they give me a new one :)
