Pros


 


1. Ever improving graphics/lighting.


2. Great physics/atmospheric modeling.


3. Engaging, nuanced FMs.


4. Period correct maps with a high attention to accuracy and detail.


5. A stable, self-updating game client.


 


Cons


 


1. Poorly optimized DServer.


2. Poor AI logic limits the usefulness of SP.


3. Oversimplified implementation of ballistic/penetration modeling.


4. No emergency control of fuel/coolant systems.


5. Limited options/empty map in QMB.

Best:

 

1. Great FM, feeling of flight is lovely.

2. Multiplayer code, only once saw anybody lagging around.

3. Ability to skin planes is a plus!

4. Extensive editor is a seller for me.

5. Oh and it looks good!

 

Worst:

1. No Tutorial, starting new is like jumping at cold water.

2. Bad AI, AI does often not follow orders and commands are sometimes unclear.

3. Lack of documentation of secondary aspects, like the exact function of AI commands or what settings in the options menu do.

4. Glitches and bugs in the menu. Scrolling the volume slider in the general options with the mouse wheel darkens the menu. Spawning in a plane in multilayer leaves the player often in the briefing screen. 

5. Its expensive! I often have  want to wait for sales.

It's NOT!!! This is absolutely b***sh*** - compared to what others offer, you get very much for your money. And if you reconsider

all the positive points you listed above then indeed it IS a fair trade - period.

Sure, I got BOS, BOM and the P40!

I also agree it is a fair trade. Its just a single full priced collector plane costs as much as a complete game, like Wolf:TNO.

Very good points been made in here. I hope the DEVs take notice and tackle some of them.

 

I love the sim more and more and the way it's growing is just amazing.

If I have to find things I don't like ... I'll try sth not said before   :huh:

1. The in-flight map blocks the view. Why is not transparent like in the old IL2?

2. The track-ir does not work in the outside views.

3. More maps and scenarios needed without waiting for so long. What about Barbarossa?

4. A good tutorial is essential for getting new players.

5. The AI needs to fly with more resources. It's very predictable.
