Does anybody fly the 109 E-7?

Pretty much my preferred Bf109, together with the recently released G-4!

 

Also, in times of biggest wobbling, it was by far the less wobbly of them all :-)

I love the109 like I love German planes- not enough time to fly the main ones but I love the moments I have.

 

Edit: to be fair it's special in that it can roll and such unlike all the other 109 models

Why Gambit, if I may ask ? Is it anything regarding the flight dynamics, or the modelling of the armament ? Just curious....

Frequently. Even flew some strike missions in it online with the extra armor plating and whatnot.

 

When they announced Battle of Moscow and the aircraft set I was very pleased because we'd get aircraft like the I-16 and the Bf109E. I wanted to fly them just as much as the later war aircraft. Glad we can!

One of my favorites and is as of now the most unique 109 in the BoX arsenal. I usually fly it in the Jabo configuration when its available online.

I always like to take out the E-7 and the I-16 on Moscow maps. Of course I usually only fly CAP with them because there's usually some BoS planes in the line up.

None of that, I'm just not a 109 guy to begin with aside from the E, (I like the more visceral, early war feel of it) and with limited stick time I like to stick to my favorites.

I'm more likely to grab an IL2 or a Yak, (or an A-20 when it get's here) and the G6 doesn't bring anything to the table for me personally.

It's definitely my favorite - even though I always struggle with lack of power, considerable weak armament etc. when engaging enemies with superior fighters... Anyway, I pretty much prefer the early planes rater than than the older ones (same as with RoF), maybe that's the reason why I still like to fly a CloD mission from time to time...

Honestly though once the Zeke and Wildcat get here....I think the only thing that will draw me away from that even now and then will be the A-20 in Kuban....or IL2 in Kuban.

IIRC, the U4 was introduced in late 1943, so I imagine it's inclusion would be historically plausible for the last few days of the timeline.

That was my intention. The left side of the fuselage has no german markings. It says NO PASARAN! along with a red star :D

When you fly CLoD, do you fly the E1 or whatever that has the manual propeller pitch control? That

seems like a real bear to use!

 

I this sim, I think the E7 flies beautifully and the visibility is so much better than the Gs!

 

Mostly the E3 or E4 types, but the E1 is really a nice challenge, that's true

I find myself flying planes in this sim that I barely touched in others. Recently it's been the JU-88. I've spent more time in it in the last week than I spent in it in the original IL2 in ten-years.

I'll go a little OT here and add a couple cents. If they really plan to add a premium plane without much difference to the previous 3 Bf109s (IE: add the 30mm Mk108 cannon) with the only real difference being the 13mm MGs then it might be a harder sell to non-die hard fans. You might even get some severe negative feedback for NOT adding it due to the number of people expecting it that arent in the loop that things need to fit the Kuban timeline. They took liberties with the Fw190 A3 and BF110 G2 so I see no logical reason to not do that here. Its not like the 30mm Mk108 was a failed experiment like the 37mm or 75mm on the Hs129. And if you ever plan to move to the Euro theater in the future that G6 will need the Mk108 anyway.

By far my favorite 109! For a while I was lucky with the MGs and I thought they were stronger in the E7. Clearly not but i managed to torch a couple of yaks with them.

 

The least favorite 109 is the F2.
