IL2 BOS SOUND PROBLEM

I have a number of issues that have kept me from being able to fly IL2 BOS.

 

I thought it might be better if I asked about one thing at a time.  

 

Problem #1: I have no sound in IL2 BOS.  I purchased mine from the IL2 site since I thought they deserves the $$ and I only wanted to fly off-line "Immediate Action."

What sort of troubleshooting have you done so far?  I thought I'd lost sound in BoS a few days ago and it turned out that something or someone had set my volume in Windows (in the little icon in the system tray at bottom right) to 0.  If you haven't already done so, check that, and check your Windows sound setup (in Control Panel) to make sure your speakers (or headphones or whatever) are set to be the default playback device.  If you're getting sound in everything else and just not BoS, check the in-game settings screen in BoS to make sure that volume hasn't been set to zero for some reason.  (Alternatively, open up your startup.cfg file in a text editor like Wordpad and check the following section to make sure it looks like the following (at least for the volume line):

interface = 1

interface_music = 1

quality = 2

speedenable = true

volume = 0.43000

Good luck - BoS is certainly better with the sound working.
