beta testers wanted for Bf 110 E-2 campaign

Recommended Posts

Posted (edited)

I am working on a campaign based on ZG 26 operating out of Dugino during late January 1942. The missions will include bombing/ground attack, intercept and escort sorties. The missions are 25-30 minutes long.

I jumped in with both feet while making my first campaign "Sirens of Death" and I learned a lot about the game and the mission editor. Having refined some of the logic of my mission making coupled with the fact that this campaign will be quite action packed with medium flight times, I can't really see any reason this campaign can't be official. And that is my end goal. This means mission files and communication will take place via a private group message.

If interested in testing you should:

- own battle of moscow

- be very interested in single player content

- be willing to replay certain missions

- HAVE FREE TIME to actually play the missions and give feedback or report serious issues

- be able to clearly communicate in English

- have basic knowledge of take off, landing and attack methods of the Bf 110 E-2

- acknowledge you are NOT to distribute the missions in any way

- understand I can't compensate you other than giving you the ability to play some missions

EDIT: I just want to note that all the essential elements of the missions should function properly once they are available to test. I test myself 1-3 times each mission. Though on rare occasion I might make some changes after testing and assume they work fine... So the point I wish to make is you won't have to keep "grinding" away at some mission that is just utterly broke. I mainly want player feedback. But of course if there is a potential issue to report I will fix it. I don't want it to feel like work for you.

have you talked to Jason first? If you want to make it official i think that would be the first step BEFORE putting it out for people to test

Yes I am communicating with Jason on a fairly regular basis.

Hi guys just a quick update.

I've decided it would be best this time around to have people test after the whole campaign is finished. The reason for this is I will be writing a story in the briefings. I will need player feedback taking the story and how it correlates with the missions  into account.

I should have all 15 of the missions done in 2 weeks unless I obtain some IRL paid work on the home-front.

However, I have no idea how long it will take me to write the story. Writing is not my strong point. So it will be a challenging task for me.

I just want all of you that are interested to know that this thing is still going forward, fully.

Sounds great.............. the stories do make the missions a bit more immersive, the beta testers can help with those as well, if you like.  I got our "Fighter" squad leader to fly the 110 last night and he was surprised at how nice it is since the FM patch............. the E is no longer a wallowing pig in the air.............. and the G is fantastic.

Looking forward to the campaign.................... are you getting any snow?............ my friends in Bend posted pics on FB of their yard.... Brrrrr

Cheers

After flying the E a lot again lately I took the G out the other night in multiplayer with my buddy as the gunner... the amount of power is insane. The engine sounds are so gnarly.

Haha no snow here. I live in Eugene. So there is a huge difference between here and Bend due to the Cascade Mountains in between us! Bend is a cool town. But as a man who almost died from heatstroke 5 years ago, snow sounds AWESOME dude.

And that 37mm is great, managed to take out three T-34s in a single sortie with it.

Netscape after being privilidged to beta test your Stuka campaign I"d be delighted if you included me on this one as well? My problem is much like last time : I won't be back at my game station until early October I hope this will be ok!

I live in the Central Valley in CA.................... it's been one hell of a hot summer here........... I hate it............ was okay when I was young and spent most of my time in the river, but I'm freakin old now...............  :o: I'll retire in less than two years and I really want to go to Idaho............... the old home in Alabama is out of the question............. I hate humidity even more...... I spent time at NAS Whidbey Is, NS Bremerton, and NS Everett before I retired from the Navy............. loved it up there, but it's too liberal now................

We took our squad CO out last night in Bf-110E's and then a G and hit some targets in TAW, got jumped by two Migs and shot down one and ran the other off.............  I think we have a convert on our hands...

Cheers

Have you decided if you want help with the scenario narrative or will you be forging ahead on your own? My plate is clean...the club Citabria I fly is still down for mx.

Hey bud, I'm still working on the missions themselves. I am currently working on mission 14 of 16. Any day I should receive a bunch of books in the mail. I'll hit those pilot memoirs hard and fast to supplement writing the story. I do actually have character outlines worked out already.

Bah! Not really - 2 of the Island County Commissioners are conservative, one of them an ex-Navy commander. What do you want?

I used to live in the Central Valley, now I live on Camano (12 years now)

Get out of there, get back up here, and just stay away from the south end of Whidbey ;)

You couldn't pay me enough to go back to Ca.

I'm in Hanford, been working at NAS Lemoore for Boeing since I retired in 97........  I was stationed here 82 to 93............  Farm country and mostly conservative............  but it's Cali.......... Jerry Brown country..... Stupid gun laws....... sanctuary state if politicians get their way..............

I'm definitely up for testing if more testers still are needed. The 110 (and IL-2) are my babies.

Ok guys, the missions have been done for awhile now. I have also put together a story to go along with the mission briefings. It is over 11,000 words long.

Do any of you consider yourself writers at any level? Or maybe hardcore fiction readers? I really need a serious beta reader and/or editor. I am certain I have many mistakes. I don't read fiction ever. And I don't write ever. I write music and read history books or memoirs :)

I might create a new thread specifically looking for someone that can fit this bill, but let me know if any of you can help!

I will apply the story text to all the briefings once it is finalized. Then the testing will begin with all you guys. I will also replay all my missions with you so I can create mission header images and to see how the overall flow feels again with the story added.

~S~ Netscape and all,

I am putting my old set together, updating, .etc, in order to begin learning, teaching, and flying... again.

I do have some experience in Mission creation, and, I am also, an English speaking New Yorker (*upstate).

Long story short, I think we'd do well to meet up, once I've absorbed the change logs, after my being "grounded" for a year +.

I've a back log of "Jupp's Missions" to update, tons of Forum threads to read... to catch up to the currents, and then, I'm all yours.

Respectfully,

"Jupp" S!

I read fiction/novels very little myself, but I fancy myself fairly competent at structuring texts and at grammar if I feel inclined to put the energy into it. Would gladly help to proof-read the texts and look over consistency and such, but I don't think I should be the #1 choice in sprucing up the original fiction/story.

I'm a published author (nonfiction) and an avid reader and have served as an editor for numerous publications.  I'm willing to help, but my schedule is a bit tight the next few weeks.  But if you'd like to PM me to discuss the details, I'm happy to explore what you're wanting.

Jupp, good to see you are well and back on the forums!

Still remember a very fun mission you had up in a server with tons of AI doing their own thing.
